Unfollow category/game from API There's currently no way to unfollow a game from the API, in any of the existing APIs (helix, v5, v3). You can follow a game in v5, but not unfollow. Helix has nothing related to games/category. The website itself uses GQL.

Twitch IRC tag "flags" is undocumented In the twitch IRC tags documentation, there are multiple instances and examples of the "flags" tag being returned. But it is not documented, its use is related to automod but to what extent is not known.

Add an endpoint to provide a user's chat rate limits Currently, the only way for a bot to know its chat limits is by hard-coding them. Even using the (undocumented?) user chat info endpoint isn't sufficient to determine what hard-coded limits to apply today, since whisper limits depend on when an account was verified.
It would be much better for a bot to query a (documented) endpoint and retrieve its rate limits in that way.

Endpoint to retrieve complete scope list Is there an endpoint to retrieve a list of all available scopes? If not, you should make one and document it.

Add target-user-id to CLEARMSG It may be helpful in certain message handling and storage structures to include "target-user-id" in the CLEARMSG event, and not just the "login" name of the user and the "target-msg-id".

To stop a race condition of multiple people wanting to buy something.

Add an endpoint to return the number of channels that a user is currently joined to. I am trying to distinguish which viewers on my channel are most likely to be bots monitoring the channel versus people actually participating in the channel - even if they are just lurking. I would like to be able to check a given user_id and see if they are joined to multiple channels at once and if the number returned is over a given threshold mark them as likely bot accounts. I do not care what channels they are join into just the total number. Currently this information seems to only be available with user granted permission. Bot accounts are…

Add Tag to USERNOTICE subgift if Part of a submysterygift Rarely, a race condition in which a USERNOTICE with a msg-id of subgift will come in before the submysterygift it shares a msg-param-origin-id with. This can cause unexpected behavior in multiple situations. Rather than try to force the submysterygift to always be sent first, I suggest adding a tag that marks a subgift as part of a random or bulk gifting in some manner. Even a boolean value would be enough for software to know to wait for the submysterygift to come in before processing the subgift. Otherwise, a forced delay is required on all subgifts, even if they're actually…

Moment Endpoint Currently Moments are still in beta, but there is a /moment chat command so this UserVoice is for that to be implemented as an endpoint when it's out of beta.
Since moments are essentially clips with some extra bells and whistles, it could be almost a copy/paste of the Create Clip endpoint, and having the option of using 3rd party tooling could result in increased usage of the Moments product.

Add broadcaster_software field to Helix videos API The V5 videos API returns a field called
broadcaster_softwarewhich contains the ID of the software used when broadcasting the video (if known to Twitch). This allows callers to identify if the stream was broadcast on consoles (Playstation or XBox) which is useful to determine the origin of a video. As V5 API is being shut down soon, It would be great if this was formalized in the Helix videos API and documented with known values for the various consoles.

Add Reason for Bots in Block API The Developer APIs are often used to resolve relationships with sets of accounts used in follow bots through the Block User Endpoint. It would be useful if we could expand the reasons to allow developers to programmatically report bot accounts to help Twitch in removing these accounts. We are all actively building systems to help combat this issue on behalf of Twitch, so let us do our best to help your team.

Viewer Data Storage for Extension Overlays/Components/Panels In the context of a Twitch Extension Overlay, the API needs a way to set key value pairs for viewers of a channel not using cookies. Chroma incognito blocks setting local storage and cookies. This would be used to store overlay settings like widget sizes and positions. That way when the page refreshes, the overlay elements would persist their placements. As the great BarryCarylon said "... like Redis for Twitch Extensions".
2 votesChrome has since stopped blocking local storage in Incognito Mode. In cases where users want to retain information across sessions while in Private Browsing or Incognito Mode, we recommend an Extension Backend Service.

Twitch Connect - app ids shared in api At the moment I have not found any way to get users app id (in my case Riot Account ID) which would allow me to authenticate user using Twitch API and at the same time make sure that user owns this Riot Account. Currently Riot does not support their own way of authentication for third-party developers, therefore Twitch would be great in this case if they shared app ids connected to the Twitch accounts.

Allow access to Get Followed Channels for Application Tokens Allow access to https://dev.twitch.tv/docs/api/reference/#get-followed-channels for Application tokens.
When this was moved over to the newer api, it became restricted to only work with user tokens. This completely breaks a feature some of my users enjoyed, which looked at two following lists and told them their mutual followed channels to help people know where they might have encountered one another before, or identify shared interests/communities.
Alternatively, an endpoint that specifically lists mutual follow connections of two users, or even a UI feature that shows mutual follows when clicking on someone's name would be great.
1 voteGiving users control of who can access their followed channels list by requiring a user access token was intensional, so there are no plans to make this information available to application tokens. More context is provided in the follows endpoints announcement (https://discuss.dev.twitch.com/t/follows-endpoints-and-eventsub-subscription-type-are-now-available-in-open-beta/43322). That being said, your use case is a great tool for users who opt into your service; any two lists from users that want to share this information can be compared for overlapping communities and interests.

Get by Emoteset with invalid emote set ID 200's https://api.twitch.tv/helix/chat/emotes/set?emote_set_id=4545454545
Shouldn't this 404?
1 voteReturning a 200 with empty data should be the consistent behavior expected if no matching emote set is found.

Allow viewers to authorize a channelpoints transaction via API As it stands now, it is not possible to subtract channel points from viewers as there is no endpoint for it. After looking around online it seems to be because there could be malicious uses for the endpoint, where an application could drain/burn channel points from viewers.
To circumvent this, give us a way to ask the viewer to accept a "transaction". This could be a small popup above the chat with the:
Application name,
Amount of points,
A small description of the transaction. The application would get a result back whether or not the viewer authorized the transaction.

Anonymized historical VOD chat I would like to use the comments on a VOD to detect moments of interests.
However the only way currently is through an undocumented and unsupported V5 API route that requires making several hundreds if not thousands of requests to compile the entire chat history of one video.
I understand that there are legitimate concerns about user privacy. However I think that the chat could be anonymized, stripped of each username. Even with this left out, making this available on the new Twitch API would be immensely helpful for services such as mine.
