Extend videos API to allow editors (and above) to automate downloads
In a similar fashion as
The Videos API should be extended to provide the (original) VOD to authenticated users where that user is an Editor or better of the channel.
As in unmuted.
For the purpose of backing up/taking a copy of the Twitch stream and/or taking that content (that the streamer owns) for use on other platforms.
Editors can already do this via the Video Dashboard, so the API should support this also

I’ve been meaning to write a script I can run on a systemd timer to fetch any broadcasts since last run and upload them for backup somewhere. Having this raw VOD URL available via the API would be extremely helpful/useful.

This would be a great addition for Video Editors, like myself, that use VODs to create highlight/cut-down videos. This would allow the automation of downloading (and transcoding) VODs for later use in editing software. This would also remove the need to remember to download VODs manually before they are deleted by Twitch after 60 days.

Now that DMCA is hitting Twitch a bit harder, this feature could prove very useful to create systems that would automatically backup VODs before deletion (to avoid any legal issue) or even detect copyrighted content within the VOD.
