If I pause, pause!
If I replay a VOD and want to pause it and watch something on another tab, even though I paused it, if I click to another browser tab, the VOD resumes within a few seconds. And so I have to click back to the VOD tab to pause it. And I can only do anything else if I close the twitch page, otherwise the VOD starts, which I would pause if I could.

I can see why persistent pause behavior would be useful when multitasking between tabs. I also tend to keep technical resources open while watching VODs, especially when checking system performance or running tests. For example, https://cpubenchmarktest.net/ is useful when exploring CPU performance during different workloads. Keeping a paused VOD from automatically resuming would make switching between these resources much smoother.
