The Super Mario Maker community has endured a lot of this from songs like "Baby Koopa is Crying" which muted videos due to the "artist" illegally using samples of Nintendo's audio in their tracks.
Just recently, something more sinister happened to Splatoon streamers - myself included. Some guy named Will Hilton belonging to a music label known as State51 Conspiracy submitted completely unedited copies in their entirety of Nintendo's Splatoon games to the record label and claimed them as his own. I wrote to the label about this issue but have not received a reply yet. Either they're crazy or this is the best publicity stunt ever pulled by a no-name label no one's heard of.
There's no proper way for me, or anyone in this situation, to properly appeal such cases where the claimant is NOT the rights holder and unjustly enriches themselves, forcing me to contact the label and Twitch support.

As others have said, this can be abused by trolls who can say something vile then delete it before mods can report it.

We’ve discussed an idea like this a few times internally and are considering supporting it in a 2021 release. Thank you for the request.

If you became a member of the armed or rescue services for special attention and perks instead of the warm fuzzy feeling that comes from saving lives and helping others, then you honestly don't belong in that field to begin with and you should re-evaluate your life choices.

We are happy to announce that we have released an update that addresses some of these points.
Channel Banned users will no longer be able to view the chat, and they will also be removed from your Chat list. There is an issue that has caused us to pause this temporarily, but we expect a fix to be out very soon – stay tuned to the Twitter thread below for the update.
Additionally, if you Block a user, they will not be able to subscribe or follow, and Blocking them will automatically unfollow them.

I will leave this topic open for your points about being unable to fully view the remaining content of a channel, and account creation.

This idea is unenforceable without a massive overall of how Twitch functions imo. What's preventing them from just viewing and stream sniping by logging out of Twitch? There's no way to prevent someone from stalking someone on Twitch unless they require everyone to have an account and be logged in before viewing streams. Even then, the bar Twitch / Amazon has set for account creation is so ridiculously low that some trolls already have literally hundreds of throwaway accounts; plus VPNs are a thing (which should also be banned).

Just wanted to update this thread that we are doing an experiment right now with Stream Display Ads!
These are less disruptive ads that allow viewers to see and hear Creators while being displayed. Creators will receive ad revenue for each SDA shown.

Some kind of forgiveness would be ideal, regardless of the length of the cooldown (can be a year for all I care), as long as there is one.
