It seems the bigger issue is turning off clips - VODs being off is ok, I save them locally anyways and didn't post them. But not letting people clip anything on the channel sucks. If the fees are steep, that will also be an issue, but we don't know yet. Currently I pay $10/month for my DJ Pool. So if it's equivalent to that, I can use the Twitch license instead (since I currently only DJ on Twitch).
I think what I will wind up doing is have a 2nd channel for DJing, and go live on both channels (maybe from my phone? Or another computer.). On my main channel I will just have a static "we're live on DJTuuli channel" with some cool video running; and regularly raid myself. That's just the thought I have now, on how I will bring over my audience.
I've also considered whether to skip the 2nd channel though.... have to see what the DJ Accounts look like, and whether it might make sense to just convert my main channel to a DJ Account or not.

While this is true that these are good community building ideas, regulating raiding and other channel decisions isn't going to go over well. These are good ideas to advocate for at the channel level where the broadcaster can decide to implement or not, not at the Twitch-wide level. It comes down to the broadcasters brand, which is their decision. I support this brand myself, but wouldn't want Twitch telling me what my brand has to be. My 2C.

Thanks for your thoughtful userVoice! I agree we need a bit more clarity on whether this is a permissive license that just adds the necessary permissions; or whether this will indeed forbid playing tracks that are not covered by the license. In practice I can't see the program effectively prohibiting remixes, additions to the songs via licensed samples or self-performed by the DJ, or even pre-releases. This would be incredibly hard to enforce.
So we need to understand better what the intent is of this restriction. I would presume it's to protect the IP rights of the rights holders for unpublished content, as my understanding is that copyright comes in when the music is published - so could see potential copyright issues and disputes on who wrote the song, and this rule being in place to prevent that. For example if a DJ layers some sweet vocals of their own on top of a pre-release track, and then similar vocals are added to the final release - should that DJ get a songwriting credit? It gets grey.
I'm just guessing but I would presume that's why the rule is there. Contracts don't like grey areas.
By the way, Dan Clancy's twitch handle is just his initials though, not a reference to him being a DJ :)

I disagree, VODs should not be posted for copyright music we (DJs) don't have permission to distribute. HOWEVER, I agree that the excessive copyright notices need to stop.
I would instead support a very similar feature whereby we can Report License as an option in the muted audio appeals - I don't want to appeal the mute on the VOD I haven't posted (as I don't intend to post it; and if I DID I would want the mute to remain). However I DO want to declare my right through my paid DJ Pool to live-stream the audio. The only options in "Appeal Muted Audio" are
1) My video does not contain the audio identified
2) I created and performed the original music without including any third party audio, and own all rights
3) I have permission from all applicable rights holders to use the audio and distribute it on Twitch as part of my video
4) My use of the audio as part of my video on Twitch is fair use
So I would suggest another option in the muted audio "keep VOD muted, report license to live stream audio on Twitch"
The email wording states I do not have a right to what I did and to not do it again - that is inflamatory and false. There should be an option to submit license info, and the wording should indicate that this is a possibility. This is why I have VODs turned off already.
