A majority of ads on web and TV apps should now have normalized sound. We are still continuing the work on this and will update the status again when it is fully complete!

As commented immediately below, today, Feb. 27, 2025, this is still happening and the "resolution" from Ana above FROM TWENTY TWENTY THREE is a blatant lie. It's 2025, you absolutely did not fix this in 2023. It continues to be a horrendous accessibility issue. I know Twitch is broke, but this issue is way more important than guest star ffs.

The fact that this was shared in 2015 and NINE YEARS LATER it's still just as much a problem is insane.
Ad volume is one of the biggest things that makes Twitch unwatchable in 2024, and your numbers clearly demonstrate that you need all the retention you can get. Crazy that this is still happening.

This has been a problem for me for years. It is the one thing that drives me away from Twitch for periods at a time. It's an AWFUL viewing experience. Though considering I've been following/posting on a different uservoice thread about this for like 4 years - which was replied to by staff who falsely stated it was fixed - I'm not holding my breath that anyone at Twitch actually gives af about the viewing experience lol

Ana, girl, get it together. There are like 50 posts about ad volume on this site, one of them from 2015. Absolutely CRAZY that it hasn't improved literally at all, despite a post on a different thread saying this was "almost done" - not even close. It's actively painful to watch twitch when this happens, like PAINFUL for people who are sensitive to loud noise. Disgusting that it's not being addressed.

I came to uservoice for the first time today to say exactly this.
I was in a chat recently where a hype train was going on. For the most part, I don't mind the chat notifications appearing at the top of chat. However, the odd time it's blocking the first messages in a smaller chat or the top of an emote list. I know you can close some of the notifications, like poll results (I think), but I saw that you can't close the chat notification bar for hype trains. It would be nice to have an option to close the bar for any and all chat notifications.
Even if it pops back up when the hype train is complete that's fine, but sometimes/frequently enough there's a reason you just gotta close it.

Still wondering if you're literally ever going to do something about this. Whoever "Ana" is that replied clearly had no sweet clue what she was talking about lol it happens every single time I have volume at a lower level - suddenly the ad blasts at 100%. It's intolerable and this thread is pathetically old with absolutely nothing being done to fix this accessibility issue.
