Creating a feature to allow streamers to turn off anonymously gifted subs
As a female streamer who has been harassed through the use of anonymous gifted subs by users out of hatred or jealousy, I would have loved the option to turn off anonymous subs which limits the anonymity of the gifted subs and makes it less likely to be used as a way of harassing a streamer who currently has no way of combating this hate. Especially when there are many usernames that are derogatory remaining on the app and degrading to people, especially women.

i love this idea its hard to draw the line on social media between healthy and safe and i think especially for women on twitch their needs to be more security. I also think just like the AI "twitch clip that" there needs to be a "Twitch Ban ****" command. have it be something that is taken very seriously, and then followed up by twitch staff. false "Twitch ban User" could result in a ban as well or something along those lines.

I am genuinely shocked that this isn't already a feature. Streamers should be able to turn off anonymous gifted individual subs. When they are grouped as 5 or more subs, it's less of a concern as the subs are chosen at random. Considering how this feature can be abused, streamers NEED the option to turn this off.

Anonymous subs are fun, but all it takes is one person with other than good intentions and unfortunately most streamers know that all too well. Sad that we need it but I think this is a great idea.<33

Love the idea Ash. In our daily lives, everyone deserves to feel comfortable, not be harassed, and be able to have a safe space, Twitch should be no different. Twitch subs should be a way to grow a community, show support to a streamer, and help those who may not be financially able to subscribe at the time, that is it. Gifted subs should not be used as a weapon or leverage against anyone. It's pathetic and immoral so yes turning off anonymous subs, especially after what happened to you,is an excellent idea and a small step forward to protecting amazing streamers like yourself and others.

It’s sick that so many female streamers go through this. And this idea should help out. And yes, I do believe twitch needs to do a lot more in order to protect women on their platform

Anonymous subs have been used as a way to harass streamers, so something like this would be an effective way to limit that.

I have been advocating for women's rights to defend themselves and I get harassed just as much in return, and I'd be on board to ensure their safety, health and wellness, as well as my own.

I have no idea why twitch didnt put much thought when implementing anonymous sub gifting without limiting or thinking of how someone could use it with the wrong intentions. The ability to turn it off is perfect in order to protect yourself from people who are clearly a danger to you and to others.

Users should not be able to weaponize subs and financials to attack streamers all the while staying anonymous. The ability to disable subs can be one less thing that streamers facing harassment have to worry about.

I think twitch would be a safer place – and a MORE ENJOYABLE PLACE for everyone – if this was an added feature. I feel really uncomfortable seeing this happening to someone during their stream and feel helpless to stop such terrible bullying/harrassment as it's occurring. Twitch has the power to change this so that it's not another case of "just something women have to deal with" online.

Anonymous gifted subs has continued to be a way for malicious people to bypass being banned/blocked and continue their targeted harassment on streamers while hiding behind an anonymous wall, avoiding accountability. I have witnessed this occur to many women over the past decade I have been on twitch. Having the ability to remove the anonymous gifted subs would be a huge help in squashing these harassment campaigns, especially when a streamer already knows that increased harassment is likely.
