Delete Chat Messages for Deleted/Deactivated Twitch Accounts
Fix inability to delete messages for deleted/deactivated twitch accounts.
Some people have found that if they post a message and immediately delete their twitch account their chat message cannot be deleted.

As it turns out this happens not because they delete their accounts, but because they change their twitch account's name.

This really needs to be fixed as it gives folks spreading hate speech in addition to trolls a blank check to get away scott free.

This really should not have even been possible in the first place. How this was only just noticed and exploited is beyond me, but it urgently needs to be corrected given that people can use this to target streamers with vile TOS stuff and get away with no consequences for their actions.

Hate speech has been and is always meant to cause harm. It in itself deserves to be held in high regard as a bannable offence and it should NOT have a trace left in the wake of a hater's absence. Please fix this bug.

A bug like this directly undermines a streamer or moderators ability to help police their chat

Hate speech should never be tolerated. Tolerance of hate speech will ruin your platform.

Must agree. Hate speech should not be able to slip by like this so easily. Please allow chats to be deleted separately from account status / allow chats to be deleted during active streams from deleted accounts.

This definitely is a problem that needs to be fixed. Even with my lack of programming knowledge compared to other people that posted here, I can tell it's a blatant exploit that allows harassment and ban evasion, not to mention forcing people to see hate speech which is definitely Not Cool.
The sooner this exploit gets fixed, the safer communities can feel.

This should be fixed. The hate and harassment has ruined my mood and my enjoyment of streams on multiple occasions.

This SHOULD be fixed as it can allow people to leave hateful comments and then delete their account to avoid being reported, thus leaving the hate and avoiding consequences. It's a bad thing to encourage, deleting your account should DELETE all comments as well. We shouldn't encourage people to escape punishment.
Promoting a respectful community is key to keeping people around. Please consider this Twitch, people would feel safer if these harassers are punished according to TOS and have their comments deleted.

Making a comment only to delete the account is cowardly and easy way to spread hate. Leaves those comments just standing around bugging streamers. Especially smaller streamers whose chats are not as lively.

This has been a long-running issue for several friends of mine having offensive and harassing comments being left in their chats, and being unable to delete them because the user abuses the name changing system and the comment gets left for all to witness. It completely devalues the moderation abilities of providing safe and healthy environments when we are left unable to remove any such targeted comments.
This is in addition to users being able to bypass a lot of ban evasion markers by using VPNs to create multiple accounts, and any reporting feedback is summarily met with "oh well, nothing we can do."
Having a tool like this is a small step back in the right direction with giving content creators the power to effectively moderate and weed out bad actors.

Agreed. I'm an incredibly tiny (Read: 1-2 viewers on average ;.; ) streamer, and now I have to worry about someone coming in, saying something nasty, and deleting/renaming their account before I can block it?
And what happens if said person THEN reports my (Or others') channels for having something nasty in the comments that THEY said before their account deletion to avoid moderation?
I already have to remember to turn my channel to 'emote only' after every stream, after that rash of people going to offline channels; saying something nasty in chat; and then reporting the channel, a few months back.
