As someone who has over 12K subs just in on stream alone, I can't believe that I would get this nag notice. If I choose to take time off gifting, no matter the reason, I should not be worried about losing my sub badge. As long as I don't close my account that badge should always be there. And also, why does Twitch only have a 5K sub badge, and nothing bigger?!

As someone who's gifted over 1K subs in a channel, if I had to put a pause in gifting more subs because of financial reasons, to be told that I needed to gift more subs in order to keep the badge would feel like a slap in the face for all of the effort that I've already put into that channel.

I absolutely understand why Twitch streamers could see this as a punishment for those within the community who show support to their favorite streamer on the platform by gifting a sub to a fellow viewer. That's literally how you build a community. To turn around and notify someone that they will lose their hard earned Gift badge unless they continue to gift a sub will have the opposite effect. Gifters will feel less encouraged to gift a sub if they know they'll have nothing to show for it. Let gifters keep their gift badges!

I 100% agree I think people should keep the badges they earn with their own money. Taking it away just make the act almost worthless.

Having them expire is one thing, it's been like that for years, but this prompt is just way too much. I get it, twitch desperately needs the money but this will actively deter people from gifting.

Fully agree. I was so surprised to see the "gift again or lose your badge" popups recently. If you are a generous person in a channel, that shouldn't go away.

I agree, I've spent literally thousands on gifting subs and to have all of that just go to waste is messed up. As long as your account is active, it should always show things, just like Steam achievements.

Yea I 100% agree, I have legit stopped gifting subs in over a dozen channels because twitch told me my sub badge expired, gift to get it back, NO, I WILL NEVER GIFT to that streamer again and its YOUR FAULT TWITCH, way to ruin things!

I couldn't agree more, we're fortunate to have people who are in a position to gift subs not only in your community but across Twitch, these people are now being punished by having their badges they have earned removed unless they continuously gift more subs so Twitch doesn't turn off their badge. I have already seen people speaking about this negative change and the fact that they don't want to gift more subs just to appease Twitch into giving them their badge back.

What you do is bang out of order Twitch. Why should people lose their badges ? It’s already bad enough to live with the feeling that maybe you cant do as much as you would like to to support your favourite streamers, without rubbing salt into the wound by taking badges away

I agree on this topic as it makes it unfair to those who can't afford to give subs often or can't do more than one sub at a time. It is gut-wrenching to see even the terms "Keep gifting or you'll lose" because to some people it may mean that they're using the last dollars they have in a paycheck to help support another person selflessly. Having badges just taken away like this would deter me as an individual from even gifting in the first place. Why compete to have a badge when it can get taken away so easily? What if I can't be in a channel for extended periods of time too? How would that make you feel as a person to come back to something you had to step away from only to find out all you've done and received in badge form, got ripped away from you?
