Make the sub gift badges permanent.
If you gift 100 subs and they run out, your badge disappears forever unless you gift a sub every month. But if you gift 1 bit, in 5 years you will still have that (ugly) bit badge. That sounds unfair to me. Make the sub gift badges permanent, or make it so that it will stay 1 month for every sub gifted (so for 10 gifted subs get the 10 gift subs badge and keep it for 10 months).

You created the uservoice but I don't see maintainersrespond. What's the point of this webpage if not to react to user feedback? Was it to give people a platform to share their ideas or just to give them an impression that the company listens to them?
As to the discussion I think that at the very least people who gifted about 5 or 10+ subs should get a permanent gifter badge. It would also encourage more people to gift subs, I'd proudly bear such badge myself :)

- Further - as you may expect, and as many others have alredy stated. This simply means, from today - I no longer give giftSUbs to any channels, My donation days aare over - as may be my Twitch ones, as I used to like to participate fully in streams. Well done Twitch, you killed my enthusiasm :(

Just discovered this little WONDROUS-AMAZON-REVENUE-GOUGING feature. As a mod & big gifter this came as a shock. On the channel I've donated more than 1300 giftsubs - my bade disappeared. Brief research over, I find this fact. Disgusting mechanism to pressure people who are already generous & prone to support streamers into feeling they MUST give more....
The effect is heightened considering if I'd spent tens of thousands of dollars on bitties instead, I'd be denoted as such in chat. Gift givers? Well they MUST keep paying for the badges they've earned.
So Amazon, it hurts... -

I have for the last say 4 years gifted almost $10k a year in subscriptions. This stops today because of this policy.

No response just shows what Twitch thinks of viewers. I've gifted 1,000s of subs - no more. I now donate directly to streamers

On @FieryAshes queue, and i don't know how the sub badges work on its upgrades, definitely what it is, it only ranks up, there could be a universal twitch sub badge or a specific stream..
There's quite a lot on this topic alone, it depends on the streamers what they make available and twitch on its self.

Been waiting years for a response to this. :(
50% split on the 1000 gift subs I've given. Would be nice to get a small permanent "Thank You" from Twitch to show in the channel.
Yes, I bet it's low priority but it should also be easier to implement compared to many other things?

I'm done gifting subs to streams that aren't my favorites. This is a giant slap in the face. Twitch... grab a hold of your cheeks, use all your might, and pull your head out of your ***. Fr, this is garbage and the person who came up with the idea should be fired.

kind of pathetic not a single twitch mod has even acknowledged this post

I agree with majority of the comments here -
I gifted 100 subs to a streamer and to only find my answer here that the badge wont show anymore because I'm not constantly gifting more subs! so basically my 100 gift subs means nothing now because no one can see it in my profile or the badge! itself

Honestly, I still agree with this idea quite a lot. Your badge permanently levels up, it is a permanently tracked metric - can we please let people keep their sub gifter badges?

I think it's ok that when the gifted subs run out, you can't show the gifter badge in chat anymore, just like if your sub runs out, you can't show your sub badge. But at least make it so that if someone clicks on your name, they can see that you have previously gifted subs in this channel. Like with your own sub, when it runs out it will still say 'previously subbed for X months'. But with gifted subs, it's currently not possible to tell if someone has previously gifted subs in the channel after they run out.

Why is this not a thing?

I was wondering what happened to one of my gift sub badges and google brought me here. It looks like I can gift a bunch more to get the next badge but that seems ridiculous.

I gifted over 100 subs to my favorite channel, but my gift badge is gone. Gee, isn't it great I can still use my ONE BIT badge though. *insert eyeroll here*
