Build in audio mixer to be able to mute programs on stream
Sometimes I'd like to mute specific programs for a stream (i.e. Discord, Chrome, etc). It'd be nice to allow users to adjust specific program volume/mute programs entirely without having to setup an external program.
We recently launched the Advanced Audio Mixer feature. This feature requires you to install an update to the audio mixer inside the global audio settings page. Once installed, you will be able to add individual applications as audio sources into your audio mixer. This will allow you to control audio being output to your stream on a per-app basis. An easy example to visualize is with the Advanced Audio Mixer, you could add Discord to your audio source list and mute it for your stream, while still hearing it locally on your PC.
In conjunction with this new feature, we also added support to exclude individual audio sources from your Clips and VODs. This setting is available in the audio source settings when adding or editing audio sources.
Lastly, we also added a “Sound Check” mode that allows you to play back the exact audio being output to your stream. This mode will mute any audio on your machine that is not being sent to your viewers so you can easily hear exactly what is being sent to the stream.

Add a feature that allows you to choose what audio comes through as with different tabs or windows instead of including all audio.
Um... commenters try the advanced audio mixer. You have to go into settings. then go to audio and click install.
Check out advanced audio driver, guys.
Or use VBCable and Voicemeeter to direct music to virtual audio device
i guess a year later still nothing. Im really hoping they do this im tired of royalty free music. i want to listen to what i want. i dont care if stream cant hear it, as long as they can hear game audio.
Hope you are releasing the compatibility of "Soundtrack by Twitch" at the same time ! :)
Hi, is there any ETA on when this will be added? Would love to be able to mute individual programs.
is it possible to get some feedback about the "audio mixer topic" ?
It is the only thing i am really missing in Twitch Studios.
Like, different screens are playing different audio.. say, if I'm talking to a friend on discord and streaming myself making music on Ableton, Twitch Studio can give me a mixer where I could turn down Discord's audio while keeping Ableton's audio in the stream.
Still waiting ? :/
This. All day. Please!
Please add the ability for the streamer to separate game audio and music audio, especially with this new dmca.
Most Streamers are now running royalty free music and tbh i don't like it and can't hear that stuff anymore longer.
Been using Twitch Studio instead of Obs the last week and really the only feature I'm missing is the ability to use my multi CAble inputs to mute my VOIP while I stream.
okay ive just seen you re working on it. I really hope it will show up soon. :)
I know i am not the first person to mantion that but possibillity of changing volume for each apps separately would be the best. Personally I really need it especially when i want to stream only gamaplay and music but mute comunicators such as TeamSpeak to be able to speak with my friends not on stream. Thanks!
add audio mixer where we can chose input and also use more then one audio device at the time (and if they are tied into the scenes, so that you can chose which audio input you want to use for that scene that would have been great too). as a user of the GOXLR where i have several seperate audio devices to utilize its kinda frustrating when you can't use all its features.
Yeah, I've hardly touched it and it's one dimensional. With that many things going on there isn't much, for myself with windows, has an answer for - outside of fumbling around the windows settings. I'm glad to have come across this topic. I'll probablyadd more on the topic.
EDIT: You might even be able to get a tiny extension that would do the trick. It doesn't have to be professional studio quality. It only needs enough sources to allow you to utilize. Think of it as a pretty on the eye version of the current one, with a bit more clarity of information.. provided it lists all one has playing at a time.
Totally agree. I don't want listen streamers musics or playlist. I want hear what he says and game musics. So If we have seperate audio control for twitch player, we can mute sound and we can use only game audio. So no more hear unliked musics from streamer.
Add one more audio, like a music player, separate from the game. In live I need to leave the audio of the music separate from the game. So the music does not disturb the game audio.
yup much needed for people that have an external mixer with a huge stream setup, we can't setup different sound inputs for mic + line in + any other sound card input to separate all sound sources.
Without this a wide range of people can't unfortunately use the soft :)
This is needed for VoiceMeeter users! The ability to add multiple audio and video sources is a needed addition.
