Keep Bits, do not replace with Super Cheer
Bits are the MOST beneficial form of income for streamers on Twitch. The donor pays the twitch fee when purchasing the bits, so the streamer gets the full amount, which is what the donor expects. If someone donates 100 bits the streamer gets $1.00. With Super Cheer if someone donates $1.00 the fee is coming out of that amount and the streamer only gets $0.76. If Twitch is looking to replace bits with Super Cheer, that is only going to hurt streamers livelihoods and the relationship between streamers and Twitch. We want to be able to stream on Twitch knowing that we can support ourselves. With the Sub split news recently coming out, along with already having to use outside sources to make money, we just want to be able to stream to our communities and continue cultivating a space where people belong, without burning out. Please reconsider the replacement.

I find Youtube's implementation of this quite predatory and viewers are shocked when they find out the true cuts that take place (both youtube as well as app store for mobile). Treat us like adults and be transparent about the cuts. It's what I like about bits currently and I'd love that applied to any other monetized options in the future

At the VERY least, please put Super Cheer as an *option* alongside Bits, instead of forcing Super Cheer on us and taking away Bits
A large amount of streamers also use Bits to trigger specialised custom Alerts, which are very much a part of the culture and creativity of Twitch
The uneditable static amounts of Super Cheers would basically eliminate or severely limit custom Alerts triggered by chat financial support - and that will cut into earnings for the streamers AND Twitch.

It would be amazing if Twitch could think of the streamer instead of lining their pockets more. There's a constant mental/emotional/physical struggle with streamers regarding content & their ability to thrive... Decisions like this just add more stress & strain.

Let's do this right. We shouldn't have to petition for a feature that is clearly mutually beneficial for the community and Twitch and keeps our goals aligned, but if we have to we will.
Thanks for leading the way Katy!

streamers should be able to opt in, rather than being forced to opt out and just copying youtube's super chats is a bad look anyway.. bits are one of the best ways to support streamers, dont take that away

I also agree with this! I STAND WITH KATY BENTZ! TWITCH NEEDS TO MAKE THIS A REALITY!

100% agree, I really hope Twitch will reconsider that! Creators deserve that support without risking burning out, especially since streaming is a full time job for some creators!

Twitch, you need to undo not only this change but the revenue split change as well. Since all you're doing is driving streamers to other platforms and convincing them and their supporters that you don't care.

+ 1. Please Twitch, listen.

The bits system is simple and intuitive. The new system feels really deceptive, obfuscating how much money is actually going to the people I watch.

As a viewer and streamer I've seen how much bits support me every month and other streamers. As well it has taken years for viewers to be aware that the full 100 bits is equal to the $1 USD. The new cheering feature is very scummy as viewers won't be educated and aware that the creator only gets 80%. Previously viewers would pay the extra fee on their side for the bits so that the creator would get the full bit amount.
Using the new cheering feature would take more money out of creators pockets. Introduce this new feature ALONG SIDE bits, give viewers the option but also be transparent about the fact that creators get 80% and not 100% like bits.

As a viewer, this is an unnecessarily complicated system. As a streamer, I can see this being the end of any sort of cheering on streams in the future.
Please keep the transparency of bits, and not this arcane system.

I agree completely.
As a viewer, I'll admit I can see it will stop people from spending money. With bits, you just buy a bunch and then use them up over time.
But having to spend at least a dollar (or more depending on currency it seems) every time will get old fast. Also, I'll be more mindful of the amount of money I'm spending which might be great for me but not for streamers who depend on this income. -

Please keep the bit system. It is ridiculous to say the split is better for streamers, the math has been done and we know it's not. It's also misleading because the person "Super Cheering" may not realize not all that money goes to the streamer. With bits it's transparent and the community can choose to support in that manner or not. Plus, all the above mentioned items in the post!

Keep Bits.
That's it. That's the Post.
Seeing this new Cheering Feature come back has me extremely worried they will get rid of them alongside all of their amazing features such as, but not limited to:
- Bit Emotes
- Bit Badges
- Custom Alerts
- Custom Amounts to Cheer
- Integration with other Channel bots (f.e. StreamElements Channel Points)Bits has been a core feature and source of income for me as a streamer, but also impacts my viewer experience heavily. Bit Alerts / Badges and Emotes are great motivators for people to support the Streamer.
I really wish we at least have the option to keep the old cheering feature.
Thanks so much.
