This kills are chat and are income. This is not the best idea at all that has came out so far.

This "experiment" has not gone well for my channel. Revenue is significantly down, viewers have told me they do not like it, and it made all my fun cheer alerts useless. Even though the "help" page says that you can integrate alerts for the direct cheers, I have not found a way to do it. There were no instructions from Twitch help at all. Many people like to purchase a chunk of bits and ration them out over time and over different streamers. The creators apparently have to pay for the transaction on our end too which is unlike bits. 100 bits meant $1 to the streamer, but now a $1 direct cheer is something like 70 cents? Not a fan that bits were disabled. Why not allow both methods during this experiment?

Also, I was only notified one time and that email went to my junk folder so I had no way to opt out in time. I feel that we should be allowed to opt out if we don't like how the experiment is going.

This experiment unfortunately doesn't work for me or my community at all but makes my important revenue from cheerings collapse, hype trains stop running etc.

Many of my viewers probably buy 1000 or more bits and distribute them sometimes to 10, 50, 100 or more, if there are funny incidents, sometimes so to different streamers. Sometimes we've just had fun with a 1-bit challenge. Some have already expressed negative about the new cheering and we have also discussed that this could mean the end especially for small streamers.

There may be streamers where direct support via PayPal may work, but I'm too small for that.

Unfortunately, I also have the impression that less happens in the chat with me and also my range on Twitch collapses.

I have now written to the support several times to interrupt the experiment on my channel, because it's just no fun anymore - unfortunately without success.

Please, Twitch, release me from this experiment.

I am really disappointed that I can't use the bits I already have. The way the direct cheering is set up, I'd have to make many separate purchases. I'd much rather make a one-time purchase of bits that I can distribute to several channels as I choose.

I like using bits over cheering as you can distribute the bits to many streamers within a purchase rather than purchasing many times to many streamers. Also right now I don't like the feature of the cheering as I have leftover bits which I can not use using the "experimental cheering" to support my streamers.

with bits, i was able to purchase a bunch when i have money, and then ration them out over time. you cant purchase these new cheers in advance, which makes it a lot more difficult when you have a limited income. plus, i cant currently spend any bits i already have on creators with the new cheering experiment on, which is highly frustrating as no one is sure what they're doing with it. i have 1.5k bits i cant currently spend on the people i want to spend them on

if you're going to change anything about bits, you should bring back bits for ads. bits have always been the cheaper option for supporting a streamer, and as a streamer, moderator, and viewer this new system makes it harder for the audience to support their favourite creators.

As a viewer, subscriber, VIP, mod, and even as a streamer.--Bits are much easier to use to.

While yes it takes a while to accumulate.. BUt it's WAAY easier to support multiple streamers this way.
Since you can divide the bits up instead of having to pay $1 or more with an additional fee to support a streamer.

Yes there are still also fees when you get bits... But at least you can get like what 700 bits for like $7 something, right?

Then you can give like 5 bits here, 12 bits there, 6 bits to this one, 20 bits to that one... etc.

As a streamer, I'd rather my viewers, VIPs, and mods, who can't afford subs. But would like to still support me with sending me bits.

I want them to still be able to do so, since I can't always afford subs like that either...

Leave it be with the bits--AND don't change anything with fees either with bits... Unless you make them more affordable for people to purchase.

Or if you can bring the ad-watching option back to earn free bitties--That'd be great for some who can't afford to pay for them. Or who are running short but can't afford to pay or them at the present time.

But still would like to give bits if they could to a streamer they want to support.

And from the looks of the comments... I'm not the only one who feels that this new form of cheering revenue... Sucks major balls!

Sure 1 bit equals 1 cent... But 1 US penny will gradually turn into a little over 10,000 US pennies.

I really don't like it. I hate these small transactions on my bank account that twitch produces in general - until now mostly with subs. Produces a lot of additional fees. That's why I really like bits as I have one transaction per month. With the new system I would have again a lot of small transactions. And Bits were much more flexible.

I DON'T want the Cheering Experiment in my Channel and i opt-out TWO times, I also wrote to support to remove it, but that coin is still in my stream chat.

I'm not happy with that and some Users also told me they don't like it.

Normaly i stream 5+ hrs every Day but now i will stop streaming untill Twitch remove this again!

Terrible terrible change. As a viewer and a creator i agree with all the other negative feedback I'm seeing here.

I never opted into this via email and im stuck using this new Cheer system i want out and i want out NOW

My least favorite thing about this experiment is not being able to even put "cheer100" in to bypass the experiment while still supporting the streamer.

I buy a certain amount of bits every paycheck, to keep me on budget with what i can use, but now Twitch is basically forcing me to not be about to use the bits I've ALREADY SPENT MONEY ON. ... for the sake of an experiment?? the participating streamers should not have miss out on the opportunity to get bits. If anything, at least you know if the option is a viable option if people continue to buy/use bits, or use the "experiment" system.

I think this change is a terrible idea. The idea of bits is a great option since I can make a single transaction and then use bits as I see fit to support whatever streamers I see fit. Having individual transactions for every cheer is going to cause a mess of fees and and taxes for everyone, and it's more confusing to figure out how much I'm actually supporting the streamers. And in the channels that are running this experiment, I've lost all of my cheermote progress and my bits have become useless to them and the streamers that depend on cheering as income have now lost this completely.

Allow people to opt out. Allow bits while the experiment is running, and most of all, please consider this a failed experiment. Don't get rid of bits. IT's worked flawlessly for years, microtransactions don't.

It's a little bit better than bits but i'm not sure what i should be thinking about the pricising...

$1 USD = 3 users temporarily unlock your chosen emote*

$5 USD = 10 users temporarily unlock your chosen emote

$10 USD = 15 users temporarily unlock your chosen emote

$50 USD = 20 users temporarily unlock your chosen emote

$100 USD = 30 users temporarily unlock your chosen emote

It makes not sence. 100 USD have to unlock the chosen emote for 300 and not 30. As more some is cheering as more it goes useless. At this point it needs to be rethink.

What's about Payout. On a fair way it should 75% go to the streamer or 60/40 for Affiliate and 70/30 to partner

This works for my community just like with the bits. What I really like about the new cheering feature is that the person who is sending the money doesn’t have to pay fees like with bits and the streamer is getting 80%. What I don't like about it is that people can't really send small amounts like with bits.
There are some problems
1) You can’t see who was the lucky person that got the emote.
2) I didn’t really know that it was on my channel before one of my followers told me about it. It would be nice if I also could see the coin like everyone else. I did get a message about it in September
If you are keeping either this new cheering feature or bits, then please add more things to the feature that you are keeping. For me, both features are just blah but still okay to have.

As a viewer, I hate this. I'm paying so much money in PayPal fees for this that I'm not going to be giving creators with this type of cheers any money. I also cannot add a message which is most of the fun. So as a viewer I hate it.

this cheering.. I will not use as a viewer... it controls how I decide as a viewer what I can do or cheer. It feels imposing and constricting on how MY MONEY is spent.

Not cheering using this method. This if implemented will negatively affect my cheering for streamers... and lead to other ways if I wish to support streamers or will lead to myself NOT contributing using cheers

This takes away the functionality of the Bits I already paid you for and makes me less likely to trust Twitch with my money.
