Fix the Ads for Bits
I love the idea for supporting streamers with bits but frankly I don't have the money to spend on bits, so that's why I rely on the free bits from ads, but one time after watching an ad it says "Try again later" under the Watch Ad button. At first I thought "Ok. I'll just watch more tomorrow" but it still said "Try again later" and it has been like that for months so I gave up checking at this point. If you could fix this or at least ease on the time you need to wait between ads. Maybe like one or two ads a week and these ads can stack, (for example if I don't watch my two ads for one week I can watch 4 ads next week and if I don't watch those 4 ads, next week I can watch 6 ads, and so on.)
Of course the "two ads per week" is just yet another suggestion, you can tailor it to however you feel fit. I just at least want a way of knowing "Hey! I watched all my ads. I can wait until _______ to watch another one." instead of relying on what feels like random luck to watch another ad.
Hey everyone -
Today we’ve made the decision that we will no longer be offering Ads for Bits. Instead, we will be turning our attention to our newest ad formats like Multiplayer Ads, which allow you to vote in polls and reward Bits to your favorite creators.
The goal for Ads for Bits was to help make cheering available for everyone and we will continue to push forward with that goal, just in different ways.
We appreciate your feedback and interest in Ads for Bits since its initial launch, and hope you will continue to offer suggestions around future ads products.

that would be something. It's annoying that it's only available in the US right now. Instead it should be available around the world

A fair amount of my audience has been negatively impacted by the mid-roll ads to the point of turning away from the platform entirely, and it's not a rare occurence. Something has to be done to lower the intrusiveness of them - whether it's making them banner ads or picture-in-picture or whatever, anything would be an enormous improvement, and as it is I do believe the platform will experience a sharp reduction in viewerbase - lowering revenue streams for both Twitch and Creators as less people sub or use bits - that would likely be a negative or neutral result for Twitch, and definitely a bad thing for Creators, as the reduction in revenue would be a lot more noticeable for affiliates and smaller partners.

Give people in the UK the ability to watch ads and be rewarded with bits to cheer for their favorite broadcaster!

This is total BS.
Ads actively hurt this community and I will not disabled my adblocker FOR ANY website, INCLUDING twitch.
Adblocker is not only a security feature, it gets rid of the ads that ruin the platform. People using adblocker are NOT going to buy your services ontop of having to subscribe to users.
I will ACTIVELY set my entire channel that I've worked years on ablaze rather than deal with these ads. With the anti-adblocker ads showing up, I actively refuse to watch anyone on twitch now.
I've cancelled all my subscriptions to everyone I subbed to, and I wont ever re-sub to anyone else again until it's gone. I'm sorry for them but I will not use this platform if I'm going to get bombarded with this predatory ads focused on targeting users like me just for Twitch to be greedy and try to milk this platform for all it's worth.
When I dont have ads and I can watch the streamer without limitations, I'm DEFINITELY more prone to dropping bits, gifted subs, donations, and subbing myself.
The moment I see an ad, I close my web browser and watch youtube instead.
Stop trying to kill the platform twitch, or otherwise you'll get what you asked for.

Bring Twitch Prime back to its glory days when it came out. No ads across the whole platform, just 24/7 content from the streamers we love. It seems that Twitch thinks that occasional rewards from random games is a better option than having no ads. Prime Gaming sucks and so does Twitch. Make Twitch Prime Great Again!

I was willing to watch some ads to give some spare change to my favorite streamers. I'm not going to sit through full streams of ads just to access content.
Classic corporation, I guess. You want it, you can't have it. You don't want it, it gets shoved down your throat until you leave.

Ayy Twitch - I don't watch ads, ever. I will stop watching Twitch until you take away pre-roll, mid-roll or any other type of unblockable ads. Learn to make money a different way.
This is really no problem for me. I used to watch TV too until I got sick of ads and stopped watching it forever. I've got plenty of other things to do :) kthxbai

I have to agree since I am now at 2 months without an single "Ads for Bits" ad. I contacted customer support and get told that the ads are randomly restocked for us. seems like since Mixer went down and Twitch cornered the market they just dont care any more because there isn't really any where we can go. just seems that Twitch has become more and more about how much money they can squeeze out of the viewers.

Prime Gaming should stop ads the way it did as Twitch Prime there is no real reason to have it if it doesn’t. You are forcing people to buy turbo or suffer ads or sub to every single person we watch. As if people have that kind of money during Covid specially in the US where people’s hours are being cut or people are being let go STILL cause our country is garbage and our government can’t handle anything. Then you’re here trying to get every bit of money you can. Garbage *** company.
Shameful for real why don’t you just add a Gacha system while your at it. If you wanna steal people money that’s the best way to do it just add gambling. You’re already halfway there.

Either bring back ad-free twitch viewing from prime members, or lower Twitch turbo price. Twitch turbo is about $110 a year and all it really offers is ad free twitch. Which is way to expensive.

Currently the Natures Way ad will not generate bits for me despite watching it. It's been like this for a couple months now.

In my case it does not allow me to see ads by bits and when I come back later it also tells me the same thing "Please try again later" and it has been like this for months, I don't have money to spend on bits

Ads aren't shown freely. Companies pay money to get Twitch to roll ads.
If I own a company I can pay 1,000$ per US state to see my ads. 50,000$ total. Each ad shown would give 5 cents with a limit of 1000$ in ads per state. Once the $$ from my company dries up, you will no longer see my ads. Twitch is not the one just handing out $$. It's the ad company and they want to get the most for their buck meaning a diverse audience.
This idea will never be implemented because you all clearly don't understand how ads and ad revenue work. Any normal business wanting to show ads would never want the same person taking handfuls of cash and never purchasing their products. 30 sec ads means you make 10cents per minute. That's 6$ per hour if you stay on it for a whole hour. If you truly want to support a streamer you can get a job for 10+$ per hour. Mow a lawn or shovel snow for 20$. Not only will you make your 6$ for the streamer but have extra cash in your pocket which you could give to the streamer.
-Terrible idea for the ad companies since they would be handing over cash with no profits to gain themselves.
-Terrible idea for Twitch since it would lose reputability with ad companies.
-Terrible idea for the streamer since you would be watching the ads instead of them since you can't do both.
-Terrible idea for you since your time is worth more than 10 cents per minute.Main point to take away from this
=Twitch isn't giving away the money! The company you're watching the ad for is!= -

I understand the advertiser model to pay for the costs of running twitch however the ads are killing the experience for a lot of people (just do a search). Please give viewers the opportunity to take part in the ad auctions that run when deciding to show us an ad, e.g. let me set a maximum value for my attention and when you run the auction include me as one of the bidders, if I win the auction then don't show an advert and take the money from my bits (for example). Why shouldn't we have the opportunity to take part in the auction for our own attention? I guarantee I value my attention way higher than any advertiser and I imagine a lot of other people do too.

Seriously, with the mid-roll ad "experiment", it's clear that Twitch has more ads to roll, so why can't they feed them to the people who are trying to watch ads!
