1. Channel point transaction in extension

   Like Bits transaction, it would be great to allow Channel points to be accessible from an extension.

   The idea is to not expose channel points to the extension and work the same way Bits transactions are.

   This would also need the addition of channelPointSku or allow sku product to have a bits value and/or a channel Point value.

   • User click on a button
   • Extension fires window.Twitch.ext.points.usePoints(pointsSku)
   • User validate transaction
   • (if user complete transaction )OnTransactionCompleted callback is fired with receipt containing channelPoint as the currency used
   • (if user cancel or don't have the channel Points) onTransactionCanceled is called

   To complete it, adding a filter on the endpoint GET helix/extensions/transactions would allow developers to only get Bits transaction, channel points transaction or both.

   Channel points in extensions would help people to discover features, interact with extensions more and at the same time, give a way to regulate the interaction by using channel points instead of free actions.

   At this time, we are purposefully only allowing Channel Points redemptions in the chat UI on Twitch.tv for a consistent viewer experience. Closing this suggestion for now to confirm this is not actively being investigated for Extensions.

2. Enable non-validated extension for my viewers

   As a developer that loves creating new ways of interacting with my viewers there are things that would benefit from using the extension system but that would be way too specific to my stream to be validated for everyone.

   As far as i know, the only ways of having an extension enabled for my viewers is either to go through the validation process or whitelist every users one by one.

   Maybe i'm mistaken, but I don't think twitch would validate an extension if other users cannot actually use it, and whitelisting the viewers one by one is not viable at all.

   Is there a reason why it's impossible to have an extension i made avaiable for my viewers without those two options ?

   I believe this would open up new creative interactions.

   Extension review is mandated for an Extension to be publicly available to viewers. However, we have since added the Streamer Allowlist feature, which can limit your Extension to be installed by specific broadcasters only,

3. Chat Extension Type

   I would like to develop extensions to the chat box directly, that can fundamentally alter how it functions.

4. React UI kit for developing extensions

   It'll be helpful and also maintain a straight UI to have a Twitch React UI Framework, so we can include it on our extensions.

   For example Uber has https://baseweb.design/ so you can develop websites with (almost) the same UI as Uber.

   To comply with Extensions Guideline 4.3, and to avoid confusion that Extensions made by 3rd party developers are created and maintained by Twitch, we do not plan on releasing Twitch's UI framework to the public, or creating a similar one to be used.
