Hey all,
Thank you for the patience with us on this. This has been one of the most popular ideas on UserVoice and we definitely heard your feedback.
Today we launched /announcement for mods and streamers. Announcements can be used in chat to highlight a message and are available in 4 different colors along with the channel accent color. Because this is only part of the ask of this idea we are setting this idea to partial release so the community can continue to leave feedback on this.

We’ve released an update today that addresses some of the feedback in this thread:
- You can now once again highlight and copy messages for easy translation, raid message organization, and general copypastas
- Clicking into the chat will not immediately open the reply function. On hover, the reply button in the top right of the message will initiate the reply
As it’s been a few days, curious to hear whether the initial feelings and experiences have changed!

Still don't like it at all, when everyone in chat uses it. it becomes very confusing and hard to moderate chat. I get that certain streamers might like it. so please let us opt out/in as streamer.

personally i wouldnt want to use this chat replies/thread feature at all. it only makes stuff more confusing and harder to follow.

Currently editors cant see the subpoints at all, I would love it if twitch gave creators the option to toggle on/off what editors have access to like subpoints. Would be nice if my mods who I made editors could see that.
