Our Mission is to champion the fight for animal welfare by promoting spay/neuter services to reduce pet over population , educating our community, enforcing animal rights, and providing a safe loving environment for all animals in our care until placed in their forever home.

The AWL team is working to make great improvements in the care and housing of all companion animals. We partner with other shelters and rescues all over Indiana (and beyond) to give every pet the best life possible. We never euthanize for space, and strive to find the perfect placement for each animal.

AWL is run entirely by loving, like-minded professionals that help save the lives and care for our community's unwanted pets. Our employees and board of directors strive for zero tolerance of ending the lives of savable pets. To date AWL operates at a 91% save rate which meets our goal to maintain a no kill status.
