End Twitch's Partnership With Chevron
Twitch needs to end its partnership at Twitchcon with Chevron.
Chevron is guilty of many international crimes stemming from its involvement in environmental disasters across South America and Africa, and also it's deep investment in and complicity with the Palestinian genocide happening in Gaza and across the Middle East.
From: https://afsc.org/chevron-fuels-israeli-apartheid-and-war-crimes
"Chevron is one of the world’s largest fossil fuel companies. By 2017, the company was responsible for approximately 3.2% of the world’s total emissions.
Chevron has yet to clean up the 16 billion gallons of toxic wastewater it deliberately dumped into Ecuador’s Amazon Rainforest between 1964 and 1990, which poisoned the lands and waters of indigenous and rural Ecuadorians in what is considered the world’s largest oil-related catastrophe.
The company has also not cleaned up pollution it left behind in the ***** Delta, which decimated the region’s ecosystem and devastated indigenous groups’ waterways, food systems, and livelihoods.
In 2021, the Chevron refinery in Richmond, California, spilled an estimated 600 gallons of oil into the San Francisco Bay, posing life-threatening contamination and exposure risks to local communities."
"Chevron operates and partially owns the largest Israeli natural gas fields, Tamar and Leviathan.
These gas fields are located in the eastern Mediterranean sea, west of Haifa. The gas from Tamar is processed in a rig that is located farther south, off the coast of Isdud/Ashdod.
Chevron also operates and partially owns the East Mediterranean Gas (EMG) Pipeline, which runs from Israel to Egypt, off the shores of the Gaza Strip."
For Twitch to truly represent the values of the community within it, it must choose partnerships and sponsorships more wisely. This begins with ending it's association with Chevron, a company that directly threatens the livelihoods of every life on Earth with it's environmental destruction and direct benefitting from wars.

Not having blood on our hands is a reasonable demand to have from a platform we use every day and give money to as well. No more money to Chevron.

I’m disgusted to find out about twitch’s partnership with Chevron. Oil companies are some of the largest contributors to climate change, and supporting them in any way is supporting the destruction of people’s livelihoods and nature. I’m now learning about Chevrons ties to the Palestine genocide. How can those running these corporations go to sleep at night knowing the crimes against humanity they’re contributing to? What a life it must be to completely lack empathy and live a life so driven by greed.
Act now twitch. -

Suspending streamers for racist comments was just the beginning, pls show your users that you care for the community and send a message against corrupt and inhuman companies like Chevron.
Untill then I wont be making anymore purchases on your platform. -

Was about to spend money on twitch but then saw the boyboy video and will now be withholding any purchases on the website until twitch divests with chevron.

The only reason I'm not spending more than my twitch prime is because Twitch partners with companies accused of war crimes.

Exactly, man. They've been pushing us down, squeezing us dry, and then expecting us to just quietly accept it all like good little cogs in their machine. But that’s not who we are, and it’s definitely not what we’re about. We’re fed up, and they can’t keep pulling this **** forever without expecting us to fight back.
We’ve been dealing with the weight of all this injustice for too long. It’s no surprise that people are rising up, refusing to be silenced, and demanding change. They’ve tried to strip us of our rights, our dignity, and even our future, but the thing is, they can’t take away our will to resist. When everything’s been taken from you, you have nothing left to lose, and that’s when we become unstoppable.
They’ve underestimated us—thinking we’d just roll over while they keep stacking their wealth and power. But the truth is, the more they take from us, the stronger our resolve becomes. This fight isn’t just about our survival—it’s about tearing down the structures that keep us oppressed and building something better in their place.
We’re not going to sit back and watch as they rob us of our future. We’re done being passive. We’re done being polite. We’re here to take back what’s ours, and we’re not stopping until we’ve changed this world for good.

Chevron is one of the largest polluters on the planet. **** the oil companies and it's partnership with Twitch is clearly trying to paint themselves as "hip and cool". The hip and cool thing would be to divest from the horrors of Big Oil.
