End Twitch's Partnership With Chevron
Twitch needs to end its partnership at Twitchcon with Chevron.
Chevron is guilty of many international crimes stemming from its involvement in environmental disasters across South America and Africa, and also it's deep investment in and complicity with the Palestinian genocide happening in Gaza and across the Middle East.
From: https://afsc.org/chevron-fuels-israeli-apartheid-and-war-crimes
"Chevron is one of the world’s largest fossil fuel companies. By 2017, the company was responsible for approximately 3.2% of the world’s total emissions.
Chevron has yet to clean up the 16 billion gallons of toxic wastewater it deliberately dumped into Ecuador’s Amazon Rainforest between 1964 and 1990, which poisoned the lands and waters of indigenous and rural Ecuadorians in what is considered the world’s largest oil-related catastrophe.
The company has also not cleaned up pollution it left behind in the ***** Delta, which decimated the region’s ecosystem and devastated indigenous groups’ waterways, food systems, and livelihoods.
In 2021, the Chevron refinery in Richmond, California, spilled an estimated 600 gallons of oil into the San Francisco Bay, posing life-threatening contamination and exposure risks to local communities."
"Chevron operates and partially owns the largest Israeli natural gas fields, Tamar and Leviathan.
These gas fields are located in the eastern Mediterranean sea, west of Haifa. The gas from Tamar is processed in a rig that is located farther south, off the coast of Isdud/Ashdod.
Chevron also operates and partially owns the East Mediterranean Gas (EMG) Pipeline, which runs from Israel to Egypt, off the shores of the Gaza Strip."
For Twitch to truly represent the values of the community within it, it must choose partnerships and sponsorships more wisely. This begins with ending it's association with Chevron, a company that directly threatens the livelihoods of every life on Earth with it's environmental destruction and direct benefitting from wars.

Thanks for bringing this to attention! I hope Twitch makes the right decision and chooses their sponsors more carefully going forward.

Twitch should be ashamed of itself.
Supporting businesses like Chevron make them complicit in child murder and genocide. -

A platform that is supposed to be home to a diverse community should not associate itself with a fossil fuel company complicit in the massacre of Palestinians.

The only thing keeping me from buying twitch prime is their partnership with a company like chevron that has done irreversible harm to this planet and support genocide. Profit over ethics as usual though.

I, as a customer of this company do NOT appreciate Twitch doing business with Chevron given their involvement in disgustingly unethical practices such as the ongoing genocide in Palestine, being that they fuel Israel's military operations in the Middle East, and also Chevron's non-sustainable usage of environmental habitats that they deal in worldwide. I do not support Twitch in pursuing partnerships like these going forward. It is embarrassing, and any such alternative is an easy improvement to make on your end.

Seeing that Chevron was sponsoring kept me from buying a ticket. Dan would make more money if he chose a sponsor that works within the limits of supporting a sustainable world safe from imperial capital interests.

It was extremely disappointing to learn that TwitchCon 2024 was being sponsored by Chevron. Ditch this evil "company" Twitch!
