End Twitch's Partnership With Chevron

Twitch needs to end its partnership at Twitchcon with Chevron.

Chevron is guilty of many international crimes stemming from its involvement in environmental disasters across South America and Africa, and also it's deep investment in and complicity with the Palestinian genocide happening in Gaza and across the Middle East.

"Chevron is one of the world’s largest fossil fuel companies. By 2017, the company was responsible for approximately 3.2% of the world’s total emissions.

Chevron has yet to clean up the 16 billion gallons of toxic wastewater it deliberately dumped into Ecuador’s Amazon Rainforest between 1964 and 1990, which poisoned the lands and waters of indigenous and rural Ecuadorians in what is considered the world’s largest oil-related catastrophe.

The company has also not cleaned up pollution it left behind in the ***** Delta, which decimated the region’s ecosystem and devastated indigenous groups’ waterways, food systems, and livelihoods.

In 2021, the Chevron refinery in Richmond, California, spilled an estimated 600 gallons of oil into the San Francisco Bay, posing life-threatening contamination and exposure risks to local communities."

"Chevron operates and partially owns the largest Israeli natural gas fields, Tamar and Leviathan.

These gas fields are located in the eastern Mediterranean sea, west of Haifa. The gas from Tamar is processed in a rig that is located farther south, off the coast of Isdud/Ashdod.

Chevron also operates and partially owns the East Mediterranean Gas (EMG) Pipeline, which runs from Israel to Egypt, off the shores of the Gaza Strip."

For Twitch to truly represent the values of the community within it, it must choose partnerships and sponsorships more wisely. This begins with ending it's association with Chevron, a company that directly threatens the livelihoods of every life on Earth with it's environmental destruction and direct benefitting from wars.

    makes perfect sense that two gobal superpowers such as Amazon and Chevron are buddied up like this. twitch is such an embarrassment for being part of this. I am not putting my money on this hellhole anymore, I'll support creators directly instead. Put your money where your mouth is and divest

    Chevron is destroying the earth, twitch forcing it's creators to be associated with them by sponsoring all their events is disgusting. Chevron is the reason why the earth is dying.

    We don't even know if we are going to have a future or the generation after us will from the actions of this company. The last thing I want to see is them advertising while I'm trying to play video games.

    Chevron has led to some of the worst ecological disasters in the Amazon and has used its financial power to bully others into not getting their fair share or worse. Put in prison for whistleblowing. Also Free Palestine

    I was unaware that Twitch works with Chevron, and I am appalled. How dare they not only stay complicit in the exploitation of impoverished countries but actively benefit from it. Divest and free Palestine!

    Chevron has committed numerous atrocities across the globe, especially in South America (plenty of videos and documentaries on this - Dan Clancy you should check them out). So, its no surprise regarding its current involvement with the genocide being committed against Palestinians. Twitch should definitely stop working with Chevron and refuse to partner with them for any other future business. Let's make this platform better. Free Palestine.

    It's disgusting that Twitch is working with a company like Chrvron who has been responsible for arming death squads to kill workers in South America, intentionally destroying the planet, pushing laws that will crush any climate change legislation, and directly supports an apartheid state.
