Require Masks at Twitch Con NA
While I understand that currently the CDC is not requiring masks at events, I feel the staff of Twitch and the goers of Twitch Con NA have a duty to ensure con-goers are safe.
As it stands on the CDC COVID tracker website (https://covid.cdc.gov/covid-data-tracker/#datatracker-home) you can see the fluctuations of the virus and the numbers are on an upward incline already and those numbers are only until January 6th.
From what the US itself is experiencing, much less the entire world taking into account international travelers who would be coming, a mask mandate for the convention should be put in place for not only NA but also for the EU.

I voted awhile ago but came back to comment. As someone who was recently diagnosed with a chronic illness. I would appreciate if my first Twitchcon event was more inclusive and safe for all.
I know a few individuals who tested positive for covid during last years event in Las Vegas. So Twitch, please consider requiring masks, proper ventilation and sanitation. For the safety of all attendees and staff.

Masking is one of the easiest ways to keep everyone safe. And unfortunately we have learned that people don't do it without being forced to do so. I'm myself am even guilty of this and have started to wear masks again almost everywhere when I was made aware of the issues for other people. It wasn't hard to change my habits.

You are putting an uncountable amount of people in danger by not enforcing masks. Not only are you excluding disabled people from going, or putting them in danger if they do attend, the virus can be asymptomatic and travel via clothes and skin, and could make others outside of the con sick. Say someone attends and is asymptomatic, they could pass it on to their parent or sibling that has an autoimmune disease or is in chemotherapy. And then the countless other people it could spread to, could also spread it more. Please don't exclude your disabled community, and endanger anyone in contact with those at the con. Even if someone is fully vaccinated, they could carry it home on their clothes, merch, etc.

Masking and having proper ventilation is key to keeping everyone safe

You are excluding entire groups of people by refusing to mandate masks. Those of us with chronic illnesses, compromised immune systems (or who live with/care for such an individual) would be putting our lives in danger by attending such an event. With 2,000 or so people dying EVERY WEEK from COVID right now in the U.S. alone, one would hope you’d be interested and invested in protecting your creators and viewers.

Masking is inclusive. It's important to keep high risk and immunocompromised people attending safe. We were so not safe last year and it would be nice to not see TwichCon become a superspreader event again. Please mandate masks! Keep the community safe from COVID, TB, RSV, and MEASLES ect!

Masks should be mandatory because:
Public health: COVID-19 is still circulating, and large gatherings like TwitchCon can be breeding grounds for transmission. Masks, particularly high-quality ones like N95s, can significantly reduce the risk of spreading the virus, protecting attendees, staff, and streamers, especially those who may be immunocompromised or at higher risk of complications.
Reduced illness: Conventions are notorious for spreading other contagious illnesses besides COVID, like the "convention cold." Masks can help mitigate the spread of these illnesses as well, keeping attendees healthier and enjoying the event more.
Peace of mind: Many attendees might feel more comfortable and relaxed knowing everyone is masked, leading to a more enjoyable experience for all.
Setting a precedent: Implementing a mask mandate could show Twitch's commitment to the health and safety of its community, setting a positive example for other conventions and events.
Thank you for your consideration!

Masking is the only responsible way forward. To do otherwise is to be directly responsible for suffering, disability, and death. Please make the right choice.

With COVID cases increasing and over two thousand dying from it each week in 2024, the least a huge event like this can do is enforce mask wearing for the safety and well being of everyone.

I am a disabled creator who would love to attend, and understand that going presents a risk I have to assess for myself. Without masks, it’s just too big a risk. Let disabled creators enjoy the con as well :)

I know so many people that caught Covid after attending Twitch-Con 2023 in Las Vegas. I think this is a good idea to keep people safe, and make the 2024 convention the best experience possible for all.

As a user of this platform I would like the option, and all others, to have the option to attend a convention, in the U.S. and / or in Europe. However, without masking requirements indoors, and in most places where many are congregating, it is not safe enough for Sars-Cov2 cautious, immunocompromised and / or disabled people to be able to attend. I know there are many that will not attend if there is not masking enforced of any kind. Added air filtration in some of the indoor spaces would also be great but masking alone would make a huge difference for many of your staff, talent, and fans that want to attend too.

nobody treats this pandemic like the life threatening, life-ending, and mass disabling event that it is. so many people either never took it serious, or think that after masking and getting vaxx'd, they dont have to do any COVID preventative measures anymore. too many think that this pandemic is over but IT IS NOT. ITS GETTING WORSE. keep the mask mandates, its the least we can do to ensure the health and safety of everyone who is in public spaces and large public spaces at that.

EVERY CON I see people not be safe, mingle, get sick and infect others. At least give Con-goers a free option to limit their viral load by either supplying or requiring masks. Pretending there's no COVID is a bad, ineffective strategy. K thx.

I wouldn't recommend anyone attend until masking is mandatory. Don't waste money on a guaranteed disease vector. Every time there's a twitch con we have seen the resulting covid outbreaks, it's just common sense to mask up.

We're living in a different time since the arrival of COVID, and twitch has a unique opportunity to lead the way in showing how to protect their attendees and have conventions in the safest manner possible. At a minimum we should be masking; it's the easiest preventative measure we can take to provide a save environment for all attendees. Not to mention, those with disabilities and the immuno-compromised will never be able to attend a con safely if we maintain the current status quo. We will never get a better handle on this virus if we continue to blind ourselves to reality. Please consider providing and mandating masks at TwitchCon. I would love to see better air filtration as well, but masking is a start.

Twitch / Twitch Con should do everything they can do keep their customers safe. Holding a large indoor convention without masks will expose hundreds (if not thousands) to possible COVID infections. COVID is a serious vascular infection & can cause long term health effects. Please require masks for Twitch Con & protect your customers

Make masks and negative COVID tests a requirement for entry. COVID can ruin your life, permanently disable you or just kill you or others you love. Please, please take this seriously, if not for the sake of goodness then for the sake of profit as if people keep getting disabled from COVID or dying there will be less customers.
