Twitch Con: Seperate badge for full facemask cosplayers/streamers?
Twitch Con: Seperate badge for full facemask cosplayers/streamers?
There are a lot of cosplayers and streamers that use full face masks or face paint while they stream, and under current TwitchCon rules, would not be allowed to attend.
This makes it difficult to network and expand our streams at live events because no one will recognize us.
I'm an introvert and have a hard time talking to people in person, but while in my full costumed Twitch persona, I have no problem being personable and entertaining.
I understand the security concerns about face masks, but I feel in the post Covid era, everyone wears masks and I think it would be easier to spot a perpetrator of a crime in full cosplay, compared to a random regular person amongst a sea of other random regular people.
My suggestion is to have a seperate style ticket. It goes through the same process of checking if you're an affiliate, partner, etc. you provide an image of your costume mask and your actual face.
When you arrive at the con those same pictures are printed at the bottom of the badges ( On a perforated strip for tear away) . The person giving out the badges can then verify that the faces match, and tear the strip off to keep for security precautions. On the back of the photo strip is the QR code matching the purchase ticket info.
Also, the badges of those cosplayers/masked streamers can have a different color strip on them. Like the different ones for Affiliates, Partners, etc.
The reason I suggest this is beacuse I'd like to attend another TwitchCon someday. But without my costume, no one will know or care what my stream is, so there's no point in me spending so much money to go to an event that ultimately won't help me expand or grow.
Those are my suggestions for your consideration, please take the ball and roll with it how you see fit.
