Merchandising
I am gunna be blunt, folks. What in gods name is going on with your merchandising?
You literally have one of, if not the most recognizable names and logos in all of gaming, and you hide your merchandising behind a menu and a click which, by the way, "Loot Cave"? Are you serious? Someone should fire whoever decided name it anything but "Shop." A term like "loot cave" makes people think of greasy nerds who have not left the basement. And sure, some of us (me included) can fall into that category, but do you think the hundreds of thousands of people watching CoD want to buy **** from the "loot cave"? What about all the people who want to flex in just chatting? You think they feel like clicking into the "loot cave" for some stuff that makes them look cool to their favorite streamers?
"Shop" is a verb. It's an action, and a demand, as well as a noun. "Shop" provides feelings of luxury, of fashion, of being a part of the folks that have expendable income. Why do you think EVERY **** ONLINE STORE says "shop" on the page? Do you think it's an accident?
This is a burgeoning industry which people dedicate hundreds of hours a month to, and you are legitimately impeding them from expressing themselves in a way which matches their hobby, because you are trying to pander to an outdated idea of what a "gamer" is. Not just outdated by a couple years. We are talking ten, fifteen year old terms.
Get with the picture people.
On top of that, your idea of fashionable and attractive merchandise for Twitch is some retro nineties looking like a Taco Bell dining room stuff? Are you kidding? THE LOGO DOESN'T EVEN LOOK LIKE THE TWITCH LOGO! Are you INSANE? You have a brand. Stick to, accentuate, and expand the brand, don't change the brand in order to match a, and I want to make this clear, completely out of touch and dead aesthetic.
On top of that, you don't even have your OWN STORE WEBSITE?? We know that Twitch is owned by Amazon, dummies. Why are we going to a glorified Amazon partnered seller page in order to buy merchandise from you? Make a stand alone site. Let alone the fact that people actively hate Amazon. We are in one of the biggest turns against capitalism this planet has ever seen and you are think "Yeah, lets make it SUPER obvious that we are owned by one of the most exploitative corporations that have ever existed. That pooping in a bag and ******* in a bottle stuff that was on the new for months, we want people to think of THAT when they are going to buy our product." Jesus Christ, people. A freshly graduated associates level web designer can make a functioning website with integrated Amazon shopping in like a month.
Lastly, and this is the big one. Why, in the almighty father our lord God's name, are you not working with streamers? You have literally thousands of graphic artists who have communities directly connected to your brand who would be head over heels to make a shirt, a hoodie, design a plushie, do ANYTHING to be singled out by big papa Twitch. You literally have an imbedded purchasing base. You do monthly drops of one or two streamers, of one or two products each, and you give them 50/50 of PROFITS (not gross, profits), and you advertise it on the front page of twitch every month as limited-time runs, look who just made revenue AND introduced people to the store. Have some of these artists work with big names like Poki, xQc, Hasan, Summit, every corner of the community, all of a sudden you have thousands of people trying to buy your merchandise.
You are missing out on an immense revenue stream.
I can't believe I just spent a half hour writing that but good lord is that the biggest no freakin' brainer, ever.
