Mask Requirement for TwitchCon
After the surge of COVID cases after TwitchCon EU it was incredibly surprising to see the lack of mask policy for the event and makes many of us incredibly concerned about TwitchCon NA. Many other cons that have gone without a mask policy have only exacerbated the COVID cases where cons like PAX East, West etc have had much lower cases by having a strict mask policy.
We hear you and take these concerns seriously. In response to all of your feedback, we are updating our TwitchCon policies to require masks, as well as either proof of vaccination or a negative covid test. We will continue to review our health and safety guidelines along with local authorities in order to keep our community safe IRL at TwitchCon San Diego. Thank you for making your voice heard. More info is available here.

To not even require the BARE MINIMUM is grossly negligent and unacceptable.

Can’t believe that after seeing the results of SDCC, twitch has decided to not do anything at all to protect people.

Abhorrent behavior. Require both ASAP

It's unconscionable that we have to even ask for this, to be frank. Twitch Con Amsterdam resulted in a lot of people getting sick with Covid. To see that and then turn around and require nothing in San Diego feels like gross negligence of responsibilities as an even organizer.

mate, im not even attending and i think yall should be wearing masks... its not even down to rules and regulations, its common sense.. theyre still people dieing in the world from COVID. Have a bit of cop on, and common decency to others and make masks and negative test results as a requirement.

PLEASE TWITCH. Listen to the people who keep your platform alive. ENFORCE a mask mandate.

Here to echo the common sense of a MINIMUM mask mandate for TwitchCon.
Reasonably put, you all gave out fanny packs the first TC I went. Masks, a massive marketing material, should be a reasonable thing to accomplish.

As someone with a weak immune system I already avoid most events but this takes away even our option of attending. No offence but we ain't gonna die for a twitch con

Echoing the others here who are sad and disappointed that this is the only forum for our voices to be heard. Twitch for many of us means community and community means taking steps to look out for one another. Please consider instituting a mask mandate and vaccination/testing protocols we've seen at other major conventions to keep the greater community safe from COVID, Monkeypox and other infections. Without mandates, it is almost certain we'll see a silimiar wave of people sick with COVID after TwitchCon EU.

If we arent going to require a COVID vaccine/test, then masks being worn is a must.

I will not be buying a ticket unless a vaccine and mask mandate is added. I just went to San Diego Comic Con and they had both. TwitchCon can too.

Mask mandate at the least please, thanks.

It's absurd that you're not even doing the bare minimum to slow the spread.

100% support this but I also ask why not show your concerns by not going. I understand people have cabin fever and miss friends and their communities but if a company can't take minor precautions based on outcomes of other events to protect the community they so-called "love" then maybe creators need to look a bit more into what more needs to be done.
Sorry, it just doesn't make sense to me.

My mother was the only person to wear a mask at an event of 50k people last weekend and now everyone that attended is getting covid. Please instate a mask requirement.

I had my flight booked and hotel reserved, all in hopes we would see sensible precautions taken for covid.
Canceled. See ya next year, perhaps.

Honestly really wanted to go again this year but it's not worth getting sick and risking the health of people close to me because Twitch organizers can't get their head straight.
