Or just an 'accidental ban' option that could remove the action - as sometimes long-time viewers do just suddenly flip.

For anyone reading this thinking that they are getting unfairly banned because of behaviour in another channel due to this feature - as a mod who uses shared ban info it is just a useful 'awareness' tool, it's not (in our chat anyway) intended to be used as an auto-ban feature. This feature just helps us to keep a closer eye on potential bad apples and to take action sooner if they have a history of abusive comments. It is best utilised when mods use the mod-comments feature. I think this suggestion that the last comment before the ban is shown is a really good one, or for us to see the previous warnings used etc. To some of the commenters below - especially the ones who seem to think that doing things that make them comfortable should be allowed at the expense of what makes the streamer comfortable, I suggest you take any chat bans as an opportunity for self-reflection, not self-pity :)

We would like to offer an “off-duty mode” for Mods, but it isn’t one of our top priorities at the moment. Will revisit in 2021.

Thanks for the request. This was actually our first idea too, but it’s been difficult to think of a way to do it without making the Ban flow too complicated, especially for Mods who are currently using the Mod Action buttons next to messages to Ban.

Mods should be mods because a streamer trusts their judgement - if bigger streamers were the sole ones responsible for going through unban requests I can tell you people would be in 'unban' request purgatory forever!
