Welp, they implemented it.
But maybe they can at least change it from automatically allowing ANY invites by default to at least only Following by default? Because just unexpectedly throwing this switch open to EVERY affiliate is just begging for harassers to cause problems with it.

I will echo TWO previous comments, and admit that I'd pay Twitch money for a chance to change my emote prefix ONE time.
"themac73" is ridiculous, and as of right now it'll stay that ridiculous until I get Partnered. This is a benefit far too simple to be 100% walled behind full Partnership. Giving Affiliates one single change is more than enough, in my view.

Now that Twitch has removed the requirement of Instant Upload Eligibility for Follower Emotes, Hopefully this idea will gain even more traction.
A global channel emote for all needs to happen!

Hi, thanks for flagging this and sharing your suggestion.
We share and understand your concerns about how the intentional, repeated misuse of tags can undermine the purpose of the tags product itself. Tags are an important discoverability feature for communities, and a powerful way for all Creators—but especially those that are underrepresented—to express their personal identity and creative vision for their content.
We also do not feel Twitch should be the judge of Creators’ personal or creative identity, so we typically only enforce against the misuse of tags when it is associated with other behavior that violates our Community Guidelines such as hateful conduct or harassment.
That said, as the VTuber community’s experience demonstrates, there are limitations to this approach and we are actively investigating additional steps we can take to protect and improve the integrity of the tags feature at scale, without infringing on good faith Creators’ personal choice…
100% agree. And now with word that all Twitch content is about to be used to train Amazon's LLM project, this is more impoortant than ever.
If I wanted any of my hand-made content and IP fed into some multi-billion-dollar parent company's AI LLM so their slopbot can regurgitate it for someone else while burning through umpteen kilowatt-hours of energy, I'd do it myself. But I don't. And most creators don't. And from an ethics standpoint, creators shouldn't!
I'm growing VERY tired of this platform becoming a Youtube and Instagram clone with every passing feature release. Not to mention that Twitch needs to improve features already present, rather than adding AI chat summaries new features no one asked for.
