Just wanted to update this thread that we are doing an experiment right now with Stream Display Ads!
These are less disruptive ads that allow viewers to see and hear Creators while being displayed. Creators will receive ad revenue for each SDA shown.

A majority of ads on web and TV apps should now have normalized sound. We are still continuing the work on this and will update the status again when it is fully complete!

yeah i'd argue that an option to disable ads for mods isn't enough, and that ads shoudn't be played at all in the moderator view. like many others have said, being able to see and hear what's happening on stream is important to performing moderator duties and getting a preroll ad when you load up the page or a randomly getting midroll ads is incredibly disruptive.
