Twitch may already attempt to target ads based on the streamer's category and tags, BUT the streamer ought to have the final say over what is okay to advertise with their content, because certain ads such as the Hogwarts one are a serious threat to the streamers' brand. There definitely ought to be overrides to block certain Ads, certain Advertisers, and certain ad categories.. Twitch could take some inspiration from Youtube here, because AdSense is serious about the safey of publishers' brands and provided Ad Blocking controls from the beginning.

As demonstrated in the original post above, the nature of certain ads are at best a nuisance in some communities, and due to factors Twitch probably didn't anticipate - showing the Hogwarts Legacy ad in particular is a complete contradiction to the kind of environment many channels are trying to create in their stream.

There are many other cases where Ads may be inappropriate from the content - Not compelling advertising, and offend the viewing experience.. another Example would be Loud ads playing on an ASMR stream.

I would say If the feature gets added: Modchat visibility toggle would be very necessary, For the streamer to be able to delegate moderation to their moderators and focus their attention on stream chat. Also for the streamer to be able to display their chat on stream without divulging the mod chat.

And a feature for alerting/pinning a message for the streamer would be nice to have, but not an essential (Really, it is a separate feature that might rarely have a use)

Regarding.. Sensitive information (such as personally identifiable information, passwords, etc) I would think that should be Cautioned to never share over mod chat, For the same reason that Twitch whispers carry this notice.

Because it's still on Twitch's website there would be a significant chance of accidental leakage; The classic.. moderator makes a typo and misses the / in front of /modmsg or /modchat command. And just like whispers i'd expect the messages are permanently stored in their history viewable by other future mods.

The purpose and utility of modchat should be tactical: the reason it is desired to get the feature And the entire use case is to get all the tactical communications to help mods co-ordinate in real time in the Same place as Twitch chat, which is also a downside regarding sensitive information. I would expect moderation teams still keep their outside email and private Discord channels for disseminating long details or non-tactical discussion, And it's the outside channels that anything sensitive would be exchanged through (By simple ``/modchat I sent the info to our Discord'' ).

I would say Twitch should implement it with no additional restrictions or cooldowns, and sending messages should be exactly like normal chat just that only each message prefixed by /modchat, and only Mods can see the messages.

The possibility of some moderators using the tool in an unintended way is Not a good cause for additional restrictions or complicating the tool.

The idea of being able to flag an important message in order to page the streamer is also a good one, but "Pinned chat" is a separate feature Twitch is already experimenting with - and they could technically just Pin a message asking the streamer to check modchat, or to check Discord, etc, for the stream issue.

And in that case the Streamer could be paged with a pinned message - The streamer should have an On/Off setting for their chat then to Hide/Unhide the "modchat messages" from their screen.

Ads turn away viewers which is highly detrimental and does not seem to be worth it or have any benefits for new and small channels that are not yet compelling enough to keep people watching through ads,

Such channels are more in need of optimal discovery to make growth in viewers from content, first and foremost before they can create a compelling enough chat to later encourage new viewers who click the link to stay on Twitch, keep watching, and paying attention, even through the ads.

The suggestion, therefore, is to temporarily disable ads for any small channels for a given period of time per stream (while they are less than 10 viewers), And create a provision for smaller channels where it is offered to either disable Pre-Rolls - "At Cost", where lost Ad Revenue will be deducted from that month's proceeds of the streamer's subscriptions and bits,

Or allow to disable Pre-roll Ads automatically while the number of current subscribers is high as a percentage compared to either present concurrent views or total views for that day -- and allow this as a community incentive So streamers would be encouraged to sell more subscriptions, and those who sell enough subscriptions (For example: 50% as many subs as views so far that day), or have been "Boosted" Receive a balance of Ad-Free views for non-subs until that number of views is used up.

The display of ads then becomes tied to channels who have a more established audience with a smaller percentage of subscribers watching who will more likely Subscribe or keep watching Twitch through the ads.

More control over attributes of the HTML elements in the panels and the CSS styling, especially the IMG tags would be very helpful. Being able to add both ALT and TITLE attributes with the relevants ALT texts for accessibility and TITLE/Mouse hover texts with additional explanation seem like very basic and necessary features that are missing.

Often broadcasters are putting images as their entire panels for content that is just text with some framing because all the various CSS controls for adding suitable styling for the text and an icon or background to a panel, Etc; Just is not there... this is not just bad for accessibility for disabled users: its also a worse experience for both those creating and maintaining a channel's panels and the viewers.

So aside from being able to customize ALT an TITLE.... It would also be useful to be able to customize CSS and more of a panel's HTML possibly have a rich panel type allowing upload of a font or icon and full customization of the html+css inside a sandbox (excepting for no scripting or embedding objects with a src= of a 3rd party web server).
