Just wanted to update this thread that we are doing an experiment right now with Stream Display Ads! These are less disruptive ads that allow viewers to see and hear Creators while being displayed. Creators will receive ad revenue for each SDA shown. You can find out more information here: https://twitter.com/TwitchSupport/status/1603148201489580032

They seriously need to allow this. It's not the viewers being mean about it or anything. It's just that if you follow enough streamers and have a ton of emotes it would just be very convenient to allow users to hide emotes especially if you have hundreds of them stacking up.

I would prefer not to see emotes from channels that I've followed or subbed too in the past. Some of these channels are either long gone or of some bad past nature. I do want to keep some for example: I know this channel is on vacation I want to continue supporting this channel. However I know of this other channel that no longer streams and they are not planning to return.
Ads for bits is unfortunately not going to come back. Twitch has gotten so far off the deep end with doing anything to save the platform. They've lost so many good streamers throughout the year of 2024 and will continue to do so because of their absolutely ignorant mods and devs.
I have never seen a platform shoot itself more in the foot then Twitch has.
