Hey all,
Thank you for the patience with us on this. This has been one of the most popular ideas on UserVoice and we definitely heard your feedback.
Today we launched /announcement for mods and streamers. Announcements can be used in chat to highlight a message and are available in 4 different colors along with the channel accent color. Because this is only part of the ask of this idea we are setting this idea to partial release so the community can continue to leave feedback on this.

We’ve discussed an idea like this a few times internally and are considering supporting it in a 2021 release. Thank you for the request.

We apply IP bans in Chat based on users’ Moderation actions in certain cases. We don’t currently plan to publicize the logic we use because we think it would make it easier for bad actors to bypass the restriction.

We’ve released an update today that addresses some of the feedback in this thread:
- You can now once again highlight and copy messages for easy translation, raid message organization, and general copypastas
- Clicking into the chat will not immediately open the reply function. On hover, the reply button in the top right of the message will initiate the reply
As it’s been a few days, curious to hear whether the initial feelings and experiences have changed!

it is said in the comments "even if it's not with real money".
well, it is, actually.
how many points you gain depends on... your tier of subscription, which is paid with real money. I've seen young people wanting badly to have a tier 3 sub, to regain the points they lost by doing a stupid "all in", on a prediction they "could not lose".
plus there's no warning anywhere about gambling addiction risk, because this is disguised gambling for very young people.
I want to disable this on my channel too.
