Twitch needs to do better. Plain and simple. There is no way they can justify the platforming of harmful charities and pretend that platforming them doesn't equal endorsement. By allowing these charities to fundraise, they are actively giving them access to the funds and tools necessary to cause harm. They are complicit.
It is very clear through Twitch's platforming of the LGB Alliance (now removed) and Autism Speaks (still active), and potentially others, that simply following a list provided is not good enough. Organizations must be vetted more thoroughly to avoid platforming hatred and harm.
Regarding Autism Speaks, Cassandra Crossman does a fantastic job at detailing Autism Speaks' ableist history and eugenics-oriented practices: https://intheloopaboutneurodiversity.wordpress.com/2019/09/13/the-ableist-history-of-autism-speaks/
To mimic the sentiment of others, do not give Twitch your money. Cancel subscriptions. Refuse to use their on-platform charity system. Donate externally and support your favorite creators directly and elsewhere.
