Opening DMs is something we hope to do in the future, but at this time, it’s not currently possible.
Please understand, however, that support is not involved with suspensions or safety decisions, so we would not be able to assist with any of those issues.
Users who are suspended are able to file an appeal to learn more about their suspension and request review. Instructions on how to do so are included in the suspension email.

The word "gay"isn't a slur. There is a slur that is used against the LGBTQ community and I am sure it is banned, just like racial slurs should be and ableist slurs should be. No one can verify who you are and your eligibility to use any particular slur while using social media like twitch, so it is probably better they don't open that can of worms. It would be a strange place if you had to prove your race, sexuality or a disability just to say an exclusive profane word. Besides, you being comfortable with the word doesn't mean everyone in your situation is.
