Just wanted to update this thread that we are doing an experiment right now with Stream Display Ads! These are less disruptive ads that allow viewers to see and hear Creators while being displayed. Creators will receive ad revenue for each SDA shown. You can find out more information here: https://twitter.com/TwitchSupport/status/1603148201489580032

Hi, I know that this is a very late response, but we’re hoping to find time to address this issue later this year. There are a few steps we’ll have to take to solve this problem in a way that will work for all streamers, but we understand the severity of the issue.

It's a pain in the butt to have to sift through a wall of bots doing who knows what just to find the legit viewers. And then, I have an announcer on my own bot for my channel that congratulates people when they "rank up" in chat by being there so many hours.. Terrible thing to see when there's a line of bots that pop up with that ranking in the chat.
Also, a full kick from the channel option would not only help with the bots, but make it harder for stream snipers to continue to snipe streamer's channels. So this would actually fix two issues instead of just one.

I think they fixed this long ago, if you ban someone in your chat they are no longer following you :)
