I've been watching streams on twitch since they were justin.tv - but since 2020, like many people, I've been working from home and Twitch has become the source of most of my social activity, as I work from home. My recap says I watched over 7,000 hours in 2025 (do the math.)
Because of this I have twitch turbo so I never see ads, but I also have many subscriptions because I like supporting the work of streamers. Until Amazon/Twitch sends an email to all users to let them know they need to opt out, and lets Streamers and viewers opt out of ALL AI use, I will cancel my monthly subscriptions and instead support on Patreon, Kofi, or Youtube if they have a monetized channel there. It might only be about $50 a month difference for me but let's see how quickly that adds up.
You know we don't want it, you said yourself you know we don't want it and that's why you turned it on by default.
Generative AI is not inevitable. It just takes one big company to draw a line in the sand and say NO, we will not feed our 2 most precious resources (humanity and our planet) into the slurry garbage disposal. Unless Twitch/Amazon decides to be that company they're going to continue to lose market share.
