I would absolutely LOVE to have a feature like this. there are already a variety of extension for closed captions that allow for live translation (for example: https://stream-cc.gooseman.codes/ and i'm sure there are more like this) which, if anyone coming to this idea thread wasn't aware, is NOT what people are asking for/talking about here. closed captions + live translation of what the STREAMER is saying is different than having a feature for being able to, perhaps, click a button on specific CHAT MESSAGES from VIEWERS and translate them to a given language.
I think that, while maybe not everyone finds this to be a necessity, it should probably be viewed as one.
There are a growing number of content creators on the platform that are looking to be able to expand their communities where possible, and language barriers can be easily overcome with the technology we have at our disposal today, and it would be a huge benefit to the Twitch user base as a whole to have something that more easily allows streamers, modders, and viewers to all interact more easily.
