If SDAs have no impact on pre-/mid-roll ads, then the question streamers will ask themselves is "Why bother having them active at all?" In the same way that manually running ads prevents video ads from playing for a set amount of time, SDAs should do the same thing. Naturally due to their format they'd do so for a shorter period of time, but I have little doubt that more frequent SDAs would result in a better viewing experience than less frequent but more intrusive manual video ads, which could be reserved for actual breaks during a stream under such a system.

It astounds me that Example 2 is still an issue more than four years after the VOD Chapters feature launched. The site knows which category the stream was in at any given time, so why don't clips inherit that same information?
Of course this doesn't help any pre-existing miscategorised clips, so the ability to change them manually should still be implemented even if they make clips work with chapters.
I'd be careful about giving viewers the power to select the category of a clip though. It seems like something better kept to just the streamer, editors and mods.
