Just wanted to update this thread that we are doing an experiment right now with Stream Display Ads! These are less disruptive ads that allow viewers to see and hear Creators while being displayed. Creators will receive ad revenue for each SDA shown. You can find out more information here: https://twitter.com/TwitchSupport/status/1603148201489580032

A majority of ads on web and TV apps should now have normalized sound. We are still continuing the work on this and will update the status again when it is fully complete!

I support this. As a viewer, I despise the excessive amount, length and repetitiveness of ads in general but if us viewers can't get the numbers to make Twitch change their ad system more reasonably, I'd think a volume balance would be at least a step in the right direction. I find myself hitting the mute button on my device every time one or a series of ads come on because they are just WAY too freaking loud. It's very annoying and disruptive. I leave streams all the time because of it. I've actually started viewing more Mixer streamers because it's ad free, at least for now. I understand that ads support streamers but they are just too excessive and everything about them is offputting to viewers like myself. Besides, I don't support the "consume obey conform" by throwing something in your face concept. If I'm in the market for something I'll consider your product. If your ads annoy the shit out of me, I will never support your brand and/or products. I'd rather be without Twitch than have Twitch with its ad system in it's overall current state.
