I've got some more suggestions:
- Allow moving the channel name tag. Now it's sometimes hiding important data (was already mentioned, but I wanna mention it again :) )
- Allow black bars above and below. Streaming in horizontal then clip to vertical by cutting off the edges means sometimes important information is cut off. I'd like to be able to zoom out a bit, then place my channel name tag and subtitles in the black areas
- Allow the addition of subtitles or text in general. Preferably with multiple tracks and colours (for when you're streaming with friends and people talk over each other)
I really like the idea of being able to edit clips on Twitch, but as of right now the functionality is too limited to really be useful. I think the ones above are really necessary to make basic but good clips.
Some features that aren't necessary but would be cool (and could add something unique to the Twitch clip editor, I think):
- if the vod is still available, allow a chat message to be highlighted on screen. Preferably not static, but something that you could make appear and disappear when it makes sense in the clip
- trim the middle of a clip. For me the beginning and end are usually the good parts, with a bit of boring in the middle
- add emotes, like you can in stories
and if we're really fancy:
- add (parts of) clips together
That would be so cool to do without the need of an external video editor, but that probably is really complicated as well
