With Just chatting being the #1 category on Twitch for something like 2-3 years, the growth of platforms like TikTok doing IRL content regularly, etc this is not something that is going away and is good for the overall health and longevity of the platform both gaming and non-gaming.

If you don't want to see streams of that type, go to the homepage and click the 3 dots by a category/stream and choose not to see it. Eventually the site will be better curated to what you would like to see.

As for kids, the site is not designed for children anyway, and any children should be accompanied by an adult. So, if they are seeing this content, why are parents allowing it?

On the flip side, I agree with some of these categories not appearing as a focal point on front page.

Twitch has 55,000 Partners, and as one of them I can say that I've only been featured on front page for charity events.

It may seem that they are only doing these things, but like any business, you put your best money makers at the forefront of the business. If an individual is bringing in the results then they get the perks.

Twitch also has featured affiliates on front page, most of which have went on to become partner. They either filled a niche or were driving results already. These people didn't put the expectation on Twitch to grow them but instead fostered a community and were rewarded with additional opportunities from Twitch.

    I'll play devil's advocate here.

With 95% of the platform averaging under 5 average, how would this be implemented, who would monitor it, and what are the expectations for "quality streamers"

I'm just asking what the actual idea is. The reason I ask is that I've spent a couple years trying to find small streamers I enjoy watching and it's rather difficult because most don't speak, don't have a camera, or just don't produce quality content in general. While there are diamonds low on directories, it's a lot of effort to find those people in the haystack.

I'd love to hear some thoughts about what this could look like, and how it could be rolled out in a realistic fashion without utilizing an excess of manpower to make it happen.

I agree that there should be a sub standard that is set in stone to minimize the people getting partner from lurk groups.

So keep the 75, or raise it to 100 with 100 non-gifted subs (since you could just gift yourself).

Have that 100 also deduct host/raid/embed views to show a raw static number

Have this be sustained for 6 months to guarantee partnership with no shade of grey.

Allow teams to be searched, both by link and current namesake.
