We are happy to announce that we have released an update that addresses some of these points.
Channel Banned users will no longer be able to view the chat, and they will also be removed from your Chat list. There is an issue that has caused us to pause this temporarily, but we expect a fix to be out very soon – stay tuned to the Twitter thread below for the update.
Additionally, if you Block a user, they will not be able to subscribe or follow, and Blocking them will automatically unfollow them.

I will leave this topic open for your points about being unable to fully view the remaining content of a channel, and account creation.

Please, PLEASE DO THIS. Twitch you need to do SOMETHING. I am constantly harassed by banned people coming back with new accounts. I once had someone come back with upwards of 12 different accounts over the course of an hour. That's at least one new account every 5 minutes. It was disruptive and upsetting, to say the least. I have had countless other issues with banned users that I wont get in to. But needless to say, I support this whole heartedly.

You have a lot of different suggestions here, the latter of which have not been implemented so I will leave the topic open, but I wanted to let the thread know that we have recently released the ability to remove followers from your list by Blocking them.

You can see how to Block a user here: https://help.twitch.tv/s/article/how-to-manage-harassment-in-chat#BlockWhispersandMessagesfromStrangers
Additionally, you can see your channel Banned Chatters in your Moderation Preferences in the Dashboard

Also, something that I just remembered and did not include:
There is an argument against this idea because many people say "The follow belongs to the follower, not the streamer, and the streamer should not have the right to take it away."
I said this to my friend the other day and he said "I can buy a membership to a gym, but I can't misbehave in that gym (for example streaking, fighting, etc) without getting my membership taken away,"
So that's something to think about as well.

Hi all,
Trolls as followers is a problem that I and many other streamers struggle with. It is a problem for many reasons. Seeing as this post is over a year and a half old, I have made a new suggestion with a bit more detail and several suggestions about how the problem could be fixed. If you are still interested in helping us achieve this goal please go see the new suggestion here: https://twitch.uservoice.com/forums/297558-general/suggestions/35977906-allow-streamers-to-remove-followers-eg-banned-ch

The limited amount of accounts per email is actually an extremely good idea. Yes, people could continue to go make new emails to make new accounts with. But setting up a new email, then making a new account and verifying the new email would take much longer than using the one email to make infinite accounts. Since the process would be significantly harder, I would probably deter a lot of people from trolling.
