    Another use case for this: I'd like to theme my channel around the seasons, like as fall turns to winter reward icons gain a snowy border; summer into fall the colors get more "fally." Small, but engaging. And really not worth it unless it could be automated :(

    This is a major gap in the API that prevents custom apps from fully leveraging the channel points feature. Commenters here have listed tons of unique and engaging use cases, and there are countless others out there.

    I second this. If the app is running as a service account (like a bot account) to perform actions on behalf of a broadcaster, it would make sense that there is a way for the broadcaster to grant that user permission to initiate a raid, since it is already possible to allow, for example, the bot to create markers in the stream.

    Perhaps some role assigned to the bot account plus a combination of channel:manage:broadcast and channel:manage:raids would allow a raid to be invoked vicariously?
