My Twitch app recently set this feed as the default home page, which was an unwelcome change to how I use the app. I do not appreciate being bombarded with an unmuted stream the second I open the app, and this aspect of the feature alone makes me hesitant to open the app at all. I have already been met with an uncomfortably loud volume from this feed when opening the app, despite my headphones being set at a reasonable volume.
My opinion of this feature is further soured by introducing more obstacles for me to navigate in order to use the other features I'm actually interested in. I use the app first and foremost to check which of my followed streamers are live, and this new default homepage hinders that purpose. I have no interest in this discovery feed. This one change has genuinely affected my user experience negatively enough that I'm heavily considering uninstalling the app altogether and just sticking to the web version of Twitch.
I implore you to allow users to choose which feed they want to see as the default homepage upon opening the app. Or at the very least allow users to set the discovery feed to muted as a default so we don't get assaulted by stream audio the second the app opens
