If you consider "the r-word" a slur, you're going to have to take a look at all the channels that allow the n-word. Cuz there are more than a few and there is no user verification to sort out the users who might be more allowed to use it than others. Nobody gets banned for that, do they?
Global bans for words are a hairy subject, because Twitch allows a lot of terrible things to be said on their platform, like the aforementioned racial slur, and others like it. If you want to start globally banning all slurs, you have a whole bunch of burning hoops to jump through to get it done.
If you want to use the argument about "taking the word back", I'm neurodivergent, and I'd like to take back the word rətard, please.
