The current follow limit is not only low for many viewers, but also problematic for monetized streamers who need to be able to follow each other as part of their networking efforts and channel growth. I'm not talking about follow-for-follow (which we all know doesn't work anyway), but about having the needed follow allowance to be able to practice basic professional courtesies. Good etiquette suggests dropping a follow to a creator who has raided us, following fellow members of our stream teams, following connections we make at TwitchCon, and following streamers with whom we are included on the same collaborations.
Additionally, a lot of us use our following list in order to find someone to raid at the end of our streams. During certain windows of the day, when we're looking to raid a specific category (for example, sticking with a cozy vibe when raiding out from a quiet/cozy stream), it can be difficult to find a creator whom we know well enough to trust with our community. So, when we find a raid target who's a good fit for our community, we want to make sure we're following.
Between streamers we collab with, streamers we raid, streamers we follow for networking purposes, streamer friends whom we support on principle, streamers we follow out of etiquette, and streamers we follow because we regularly watch their stream or want to keep tabs on their channel... the number adds up to 2k real fast.
Please help creators do their job on the platform and support their building healthy networks with other creators by raising this follow limit! Dan Clancy has been hyping the value of collaboration and the future of the platform being rooted in it -- a philosophy which makes the 2k follow limit stand out as having been outdated for quite some time.
