I see the masses are still reeling, so guess none of this feedback's even been considered yet.

Happily alternating between a third party alternative and an update-blocked old version in the meantime.

    Seriously, Twitch...

    Don't.

In addition to my previous comment here, I'd add that you tried a similar overall strategy with the Fire TV app. An apparent effort to usher people away from VODs and their followed channels while shoving discovery of uninteresting live streams in the faces of the user.

I think someone at Twitch fundamentally underestimates the sense of community that's fostered on Twitch: A long-form video content built on direct, human interaction among viewers.

I can't name a single person on TikTok. But I can probably name every single person I follow on Twitch and a good number of people in their communities.

That's what keeps us coming back and subscribed. Please let us seek out new content *when we're looking for something new.* Stop trying to put subtle distance between viewers and their favorite streams.

If you're going to do anything blurb-like, a separate new feature for flicking through clips could be fun. (It's always sort of had that...) But 30 second clips aren't the main reason people come to Twitch.

Everything about the UX is worse. Please do not blast streams at me when I open ANY app. Please first present me my followed channels at a glance (not one at a time or hidden behind a button tap in the farthest corner of the screen) and keep your suggestions in a separate tab. Please let the active stream stay popped out and playing if I pop back to browse or search for something as it used to. Please keep track of where I was in VODs and make them easy to find.

All things that worked just fine before. Twitch is not TikTok. Twitch is a long format video service.

If you want to catch the TikTok short attention buzz, add a Clips tab separate from the primary service tab that looks like this new mess.

Wow. 2 years and this is still one of the top voted TV Apps items.

It's as bad as the new mobile layout that went live this week.

Are you out there Twitch devs? Don't let the corporate overlords dictate bad design. You know better how your audience engages with the platform.

Still out here happily using a third party client instead.

@baskov1987 I appreciate your trying to look for the positive. I try to do the same.

This isn't one of those times though. None of the changes in v10 were for the better. Every change actively made it worse, even going so far as adding barriers to getting to your followed channels for VODs, which is awful for creators.

Over a year running and I'm still perfectly happy using a community alternative to the official app for TV viewing instead...

@TheRealAppy Or other recourse: Sideload S0undTV?

Once up and running, I found it was way more usable and feature rich than even v9.

ILY twitch, but v10 is truly wretched...

All patience to Twitch while they fix this, I've moved on to s0undtv. Community written. Standalone apk is on github. Very feature rich except I think no sending chat (not sure actually, I still use Twitch mobile for that).

And reesej, if anyone likes the split chat like I do, it's resizeable. Def enough features it takes getting used to. Shiny though!

    ily twitch.

While we wait for something official from the hard working folks at twitch, discovered something else for all the good noodles out there... S0undTV.

I opened a support ticket also.

    1) Can't easily get to non-live content.
    2) Where's my list of followed channels?
    3) Latency on live video is awful. Old app used to be the only way to watch that was near instantaneous. Now it often starts 5-7 seconds behind and gets progressively worse. Awful experience trying to interact with live streams.
    4) Not all chat activity shows in chat.
    5) No more auto forwarding on raids. Need to wait forever for the option to even come up, and still have to click a few buttons first. Miss the spontaneity of raids.
    6) Tries to make sure chat names are visible on dark background, but it's not tuned properly. Practically black names don't appear in chat, and bright names get turned white?
    7) No chat replay on VODs anymore? Who is my streamer talking to? What's happening?

Just to name a few. Agree with sentiment that there's a perverse attention to directing to live content only, which just feels wrong when it completely cuts us off from our subscribed, offline content.

I'd give anything to get the old version back. Total downgrade.

Since the big Fire TV update, my 4k stick screen saver kicks in while watching streams. Only fix is to reboot the fire stick to enjoy one session without interruption, but then it happens again after switching.
