This experiment is now closed as the new mobile redesign is rolling out to all users. Thank you for all your feedback during the experiment. We released an update to respect your autoplay settings in the feed, muted the feed on open by default (you can adjust this in your settings), and added mute functionality directly to the feed to give you more control over your viewing experience. We also enabled PIP over feed and have been continuing to improve app performance since launch. Learn more about the new app on our blog and continue to share feedback with us on the improved experience in the mobile category on UserVoice.

WHY would you do this. This is not the way that I or anybody I know uses twitch, or wants to use twitch. This is so much less usable than the old update that it's insane. All I want is to see a simple list of the channels I follow that are live, allowing me to click in to view their streams. That's it. Auto-playing content is atrocious, defaulting to a full screen view of streams and burying the followed channels list behind a small icon in the corner is atrocious, promoting streamers I haven't followed over ones that I have is atrocious (I do like discovering new streamers from time to time, but specifically when I go to look for them e.g. via categories or recommendations that I choose to click on - I do NOT want my experience to be disrupted by injecting these recs where I didn't ask for them). If this update ever rolls out to my account, I will stop using the mobile app permanently/until reverted. (for now at least, I just viewed the redesign online)
