An error occurred while saving the comment djbystedt commentedIf you want to gift multiple subs, you can let Twitch pick randomly, giving those subs to trolls, bots, and others. OR you can click each persons name, and gift directly, multiple times. And if you gift multiple times, it can be seen as spamming - and yes, some streamers get mad about being given money like this...
Now, there are multiple feature requests for a better algorithm for selecting users to be gifted a sub. None of which have been acted on in over a year. Perhaps it's tricky to determine the fairness of such a change.
However, generating a simple check box list of unsubscribed users, that a gifter can select from would avoid the downsides of the current auto-selection, would be utilized by those specific users most interested (as to not negatively impact anyone who dislikes the change), and would be simple to implement.
For clarity, this would exist alongside the current "choose for me" approach. A gifter would be able to either method.

An error occurred while saving the comment djbystedt commentedBlocking someone as a user, is not the same as blocking a channel. As it stands, only viewers can block. This isn’t equal. Allow users to block channels. This feature is needed, because the recommendation feedback tool isn’t listened too. Those channels can still be recommended. Further, if I’m lurking, I can get pulled into a raid. But there are some creators I never want to support. Because sometimes, one can go down the rabbit hole of a few raids and end up in a stream that says the n word.

That user still gets notifications and recommendations for a channel they’re not welcome in. That isn’t a good UX. When blocked, the user should get a notification, and have that channel unfollowed, and hidden. The current system leads to creators receiving harassment on other platforms.

Scenario: It's a users birthday, and someone gifts a sub. They gift one month. And now others in chat who also wanted to celebrate that persons birthday with a gift can't do so.
Background: When gifting a sub to a single user, the gifter can select if they would like to gift multiple months.
Problem: However, once a user has been gifted a single month, another month cannot be gifted until the current month expires. The "Gift a Sub" option on the context menu shows a dithered button.
Solution: When a user has an active subscription, rather than dithering the "Gift a Sub" button, alter the text to read "Gift an additional month."
Implementation: After selecting this option, let the gifter know how many months the user currently has on their account. As gifting a 13th month to a user who has purchased 12 months, might not be what the gifter had in mind.
