COVID is currently surging at it's highest point during any summer since 2020. Requiring masks and ensuring HEPA filtration at a event where thousands of people are gathering from all over are common sense safety measures to protect attendees and employees from COVID, RSV, the flu, and colds. Twitch is absolutely nothing without the streamers and viewers. Why host an event that will cause severe health issues for the very people who keep this platform alive without doing what is necessary to protect everyone involved? Are the organizers of TwitchCon happy with knowing their lack of COVID safety protocols could have very well led to someone's death? Twitch has a responsibility to create a safer environment when hosting events.
