Twitch's kneejerk reaction to a smear campaign is putting thousands of streamers' livelihoods at risk. The lack of care is astounding. Please fix this.

This is a fantastic idea not only for providing a TTS service for visually impaired people, but also it could also allow improved accessibility for people with audio sensory processing issues, and have an adverse reaction to repetitive and/or loud alerts. I am 100% certain there are streamers out there who would appreciate being able to cater to more of their viewers with a feature like this, without having to change the experience for the rest of their viewers.
I'm guessing that this could be achieved by building upon the existing setup that lets streamers split off their live stream audio from the VOD: Allowing streamers to pipe an audio stream without alerts to Twitch, and letting viewers select a specific one to listen to - in a similar way that they can pick a set visual quality. That would require some changes on the frontend stream player too, but it seems doable.
Equating the term "Zionist" with "Jewish" is antisemitic, as this is essentially linking the violent actions of Israel with the faith of Judaism as a whole: Something that many Jewish people worldwide certainly do not appreciate being conflated with.
Which is why it's concerning that Twitch is now considering the term "Zionist" as a proxy term for "Jews". All this does is to try and enforce the antisemitic trope above, and actually does more to socially reinforce antisemitism through the platform.
While the ADL have seemingly granted themselves the authority over what antisemitism "means", they are backed by the Israeli state, and have spent considerable time, money and effort trying to use the label of antisemitism as a smear tactic against anybody who calls out the violent actions of Israel, including most recently, Twitch streamers covering recent events since the attack on October 7th.
It feels like a step backwards, conceding to the demands of an organisation that serves the interests of the state of Israel, as it only helps to reinforce their own new brand of antisemitism that includes criticism of their actions as a violent apartheid settler ethnostate. As such, I heavily urge Twitch to speak to anti-Zionist Jewish groups such as Jewish Voice for Peace (https://jewishvoiceforpeace.org/) - and get input from Jewish people who aren't sponsored by a country who are being investigated for actions of genocide in the international courts.
