The concept of Gift Subbing is one built entirely on showing love for a creator and their community. It allows those of us with extra to give to the communities we frequent. The cornerstone of community building, trust and integrity requires us to come together and uplift the creators we believe in and enjoy watching.
Let our gifts to our communities go further. Expand the Partner Plus Program (a step in the right direction) to include our gifts. The true power in content creation going forward is not in massive CCV channels it lies within communities for mid range creators, of which there's tens of thousands, just waiting for a better deal on Twitch. Tens of thousands of communities just waiting for their gifts to be impactful on their favorite creator's lives. To grant creators the financial space and breathing room they need to create from a place of joy rather than desperation.
I fully understand and respect that Twitch is the absolute top of the live streaming world. YouTube, Kick & Meta will never want to pay for the ability to broadcast the sheer amount of content creators Twitch does. I understand you have your bills to pay as a platform- But so do these creators. I'm not afraid to admit that if Twitch cannot reconcile a better sub split, better ad programs for itself and it's creators and rebuild it's trust with it's userbase then Live Streaming for the small to mid range creator dies and so does the true entrepreneurial spirit that was the genesis for this industry. This is entirely an admission that we need you as much as you need us.
I thank Twitch for giving me the avenue to find communities that sustained me through my absolute worst years. Grant your Partners and their communities this boon. Let the average user know that Twitch knows their choice to spend directly on Twitch instead of another service is acknowledged and rewarded. We WANT to be on Twitch. We WANT this to be our home.
But most of all we just want to know you hear our voices as we ask you to help us empower our favorite creators. Please. For all our sakes (Twitch shot callers included) don't leave us screaming into the void.
